Basement Remodel... Ohh & a 320+ Gallon - 96x30x26 In-Wall SPS Tank

Hi guys,

A couple of updates.
1. I managed to finish painting the fish room stands and moved all my equipment that I had all over the basement in to the room. Its starting to look like a fish room. :)
2. Got word from UPS that my skimmer and return pumps are on their way next week (finally),so this thread should get a little bit more exciting.
3. Finished framing the basement yesterday so now dry wall is scheduled to start Labor Day weekend. Once the walls are mudded and sanded I will start on the tank to get that Pukani cured.

Some pics of this weekends hard work.

Yes I shop at BRS...

Have great Sunday!

I got the tanks from EBay, there is a guy out in Texas that sells all kinda of different size tanks.
He worked with me on the freight costs as they are typically more than the tanks them selves. Still expensive but I couldn't find any locally.

Thanks for looking at the thread.

What a great build, thanks for sharing! I love seeing the equipment and the rooms that hold them.. one of the best parts of the build in IMO, and yours is looking just awesome! :)

Looks awesome Art, get the rock curing now in those tubs while you wait! You are going to have a awesome setup.

I know, I'm so tempted but I have to wait. There is so much crap in the Pukani its not even funny. When I was moving the rock to paint the stands there was a pound of junk on the floor. Urchin shells, obviously dead worms, dirt and rubble just flying of these things. I shook one for 1 minute and the stuff just keeps on coming out and it didn't stop. I think the acid bath will help break down all the little stuff so that it flushes out easier.

Thanks for following along leveldrummer!

Hey Art. Good to see you back. The clownfish I got from you (crown and royal) are still going strong. Good luck with your new build.

OMG, My wife will be so happy to hear that. She may want them back.
That is fantastic... You know that I got those clowns in 2005 so that would make them at least 8 years old. Post a pick of them if you can.
Keep in touch and follow along.

Those reefbreeder fixtures are gonna change the industry. No one is even close to that price. You would probably spend 6 grand lighting that tank with ecotech radions. Sure the reefbreeders don't have the color control but my friend has them and I love the color.

Great build...
