Im not sure if my male clowns is trying to entice my female clown to breed or what, but he often goes up beside her in a underneath diagonal way and vibrates kind of like a tremble and also does this on the rocks near there BTA.

the female is a normal colour, Amphiprion percula, and the male is a black and white Amphiprion ocellaris.

female = 2.5-3"
male = 1.5-2"

any ideas?

cheers james

Very normal and this is a move of submission. This is also nicknamed the clownfish dance, or clownfish waggle. I cal it the clownfish seizure, because it looks like the male is seizing and the way it sometimes does it sideways only exacerbates my naming.

Congrats...they may be laying eggs sometime in the near future.

will the female do this shaking too? I just got a pair of clarkii's and the female is doing this (which i know is normal from this forum), and they have also taken to a particular archway in the tank.
