another sweet a** tank from LeeMar. i really like the length of the tank, makes for a beautiful display.

you guys are lucky to have nearby custom tank builders.

how big is the overflow box? is that 2x 1.5" drain and an additional return hole?

are you planning any other angels besides the 2 meredithi's?

btw, how big are your meredithi and how long have you had them?

Thanks! Yes, those are the correct overflow spec's. I have an asfur angel in there already. If I do add any other angels, it will be a choice between a yellow belly regal, a flagfin, and a navarchus. I really wanted a emperor, but every time I see a new picture of Gary's giant emp, I get scared that even in a 8' 240g, he would grow up to be a bruiser and ruin the harmony of the tank. I also hope that in the new tank the asfur will heal from the HLLE it developed last year. It came on quick (like 2 months) and then stopped, after having the fish for over 3 years, with good growth, so I am still a bit stumped as to what exactly caused it. The meredithi male is REALLY big, a good 8.5" I'd say at this point. His yellow tail alone looks huge LOL! The female is about 6".

Can you describe your qt procedure on those BF's (size of qt, when do you begin medication etc...)?

QT is pretty basic:

15g long tank
aquaclear hangon filter
heater
small powerhead for circulation
liverock rubble

I'll usually run low dose cupramine (1 drop per gln day one, another drop per gln day 3, then just observe). I'll use nirtofuracin green powder if I see any signs of milky fins or reddish bodies. Once fish are eatingwell, I will use prazi 2 x 5 days treatments.

I don't think an emporer would outgrow the tank, but they can be mean spirited - perhaps too much so for the butterflies ..... and while some people find the "grunting" cool, it gets quite tiresome and is very loud; I have missed critical moments of movies because of a flurry of grunts!!!

So I'm thinking a flagfin pair, or a single navarchus.... also entertaining the idea of a fowleri tang

Your'e BF's look fantastic. Just from memory of your last vids the ranfordi looks more filled out & that collare is OUTSTANDING. Again, he also looks much nicer than before.

Love the pair of saddlebacks too.

My ~5" emp(changing) was chasing the hell out of the same size chrysurus angel. I removed the chrysurus. Now it is occasionally chasing both my 5.5-6" true personifer and meredithi. If it gets much worse, which it probably will, I will find the emp another home. He's my first fish, so I've been fairly tolerant.
I'm wanting to revamp and lighten my stock list anyways. So all the trouble makers will find their way out.

Here it was at its worst. It has since gotten better. I'm hoping for full recovery over time...

Thanks Ed. The rainfordi has most definitely filled out and grown, as has the collare. I'm actually surprised how big they are!

The saddleback pair is a new experiment. I just recently added the larger one. It was so differently shaped... as tall as it is long... I was hoping it maybe is a sign of sexual dimorphism. So far, so good. Zero aggression.

My passer angel HLLE looks exactly the same. The passer went thru 8 weeks of cupramine(2nd treatment(4 weeks) after adding 1 non-QT fish and got oodinium). I think pomacanthus angels are really susceptible to HLLE. I see a guy in the disease forum with a chyrsurus angel developing HLLE too. A guy on the fish only forum said he had several emps that had HLLE, so he quit keeping them.

I dont think my passer will heal. The passer stressed out my lemonpeel into a cave and the lemonpeel quit eating and eventually died. So I will rehome the passer after I get a new lemonpeel.

My vote is for the Navarchus. The color combo, size, and temperment are hard to beat. I am biased though.

Sorry about your Asfur. I had one for 7 years that I lost to a power failure. Beautiful fish and the lyres that it deveolped were magnificent. HLLE is a real *$&#%.

Extremely quickly. And it stopped as suddenly as it came on. Very perplexing after so long without an issue...

Don't know how I didn't notice this thread earlier. This is going to make an incredible display. Can't wait to see it up and fully stocked.

If you're letting us vote on the angel it would be tough for me to pick anything other than a Navarchus. Mine gets along very well in the tank with the Copperband and Longnose butterflies...never any aggression. But a Red Sea Regal would be hard to pass up, as would a healthy Flagfin if you are lucky enough to find one.
