Beneath ROCK ISLAND

Beautiful tank. Can you describe more what happened during the 2009 potassium overdose? Did you test prior?

+1

Ive "accidently" put my potassium to 500+ cant say i saw any issues apart from a slight color shift, please tell us your observations and why you think elevated potassium had an impact?...

Thanks for the info.. Couple more questions. A few more actually :)
What is the footprint of your plenum?
I assume it's in the basement and not in the main display?
What is the depth of the plenum area and the sand depth?
How often and how much gfo do you need to use, these days, to maintain p at .02-.08?
So, you've never touched the plenum? No sand siphoning, stirring or addition of critters to it?
Thanks again!

Hey man sorry for the late response. The plenum is in the main tank, length and width and all. When I 1st put them together in the bigining the sand thickness was around 4", now its only 2" due to erosion. I never use gfo instead I used oversize skimmer and vinegar dosing. No, never touch the sand ever. the sand is teaming up with all sorts of critters.

This is just a big nightmare in my part. I tested once and it was low, so I dose and keep dosing and forget to tested again due to busy lifestyle.

Stupidity in my part. I check once it was low so I decided to dose and again and again w/o even noticing it went over the limit already. I did not know even how long did it stay like that, days, mo. Lesson learned, when u get busy w/ life something will bound to happen.

Would love to see more photos of this amazing tank. ;)

I have nothing at this time brotha but for u i would snap a few pictures. Tank still going and strong. I trimed most of the once that grows too damm fast, Austeras, montis they just shading most of the corals below. Thats another reason so I can add more of this Reef Raft stuff, lol

Cheers

Still looking great my man! One of these days I need to get a piece of that hairy stag from you!

Its good to do some weeding now and again. I'd love to see photos of the RR stuff when you have time to take some photos.
