For some reason this took me a while to figure out myself. Here is what I do.
I have two power heads in my RO/DI water container. One pumps makeup water directly to the sump, and is controlled 24/7 by a float switch. The other powerhead pumps into the Nilsen then goes from the nilsen into the sump. The nilsen powerhead turns on through a timer only at night. From 10PM till 9AM every hour for 2 minutes the pumps kicks on and dumps kalkwasser from the reactor into the sump. The amount is just enough the keep the pH stable and not dump too much into the tank.
