Please don't get him started. It will just shut down another good thread.

I think it is good practice to state where you get your info. If it is YOUR experiment then tell about it. That way more people can try what you have been doing and see if it is a value to them. Not every tank is the same.

Also posting names is not a bad thing. Just don't use a quote out of context. If the "high up" person really said what you say then they shouldn't be afraid to share it with the world. Especially if it can help us keep corals healthier in our aquariums. That can lead to endless possibilities in this hobby.

I have no Idea where ure anger comes from, perhaps problems at home hence why u had to get a reef tank, but as many know Zeovit do not publish what is in their bottel nor are there any SCIENTIFIC papers on Zeovit. look at Zeovit bottels, no ingredients ! perhaps a bit more research, and you would have found this out :)

about names, its a personal choice, him and me do not want to post names, as mentioned above, Zeovit info are NOT published. you will not find a ingredient list for Zeovit additives ! so please, I ask you to not hate me cause of your lack of knowledge, I shared some really good info here, and those who understand it, will try it or research on it, you on the other hand are following me around with hate replies like this.

Sorry your right. I should have said "is that an assumption?". And basically what you are telling me is that you believe this simply because someone told you.

Don't take me wrong......it may be true but it may not be as well. I like to see scientific proof or studies or some evidence of some type before I just believe something. I'm just a skeptic at heart I guess.

lol I know, I told my Zeovit friends last time, I said Zeovit is like a religion, u gotta have faith ! if u ask to be shown god or in this case ingeredients of the blue bottels, u get nothing
lol

ok I should add that adding PCS too much will have fading effects on corals. specially millies. so the right amount will have more effect, too much will fade the SPS (as with any Zeovit product ) lol

Lol, I was astually serious about the Big One.. kind of.

Seriously for one second. I do think low nutrient tank combined with the right amount of fish poo and some light feeding of phytoplankton yields the best results for color/growth. Of course you have to have alk, cal, mag at proper levels. Thats the magic secret everyone is looking for. = )

I'll just assume here that you're all adults. How about some of us act like it?

I replied one time to one of your posts and I "follow" you around posting hate replies? Please show me one other time I have ever posted to you or about you.

I do watch the forums and have seen more than one thread closed that you were part of. I simply asked the guy to not get you started. I like INFORMATIVE threads that can help all. I don't care for a bunch of talk with nothing behind it.

I am not here to fight with you or act childish. I am asking that you back up your claims, even if it is YOUR experiment that yielded a certain result.

Is that really too much to ask? I don't see Randy Holmes-Farley claiming things because he "read" it somewhere or "talked" to a "big name". Once again, site your sources, even if they are you.

I skimmed through most of this thread and I agree with Stability as everyone else has said. I wish I had a good camera because the before and after pictures I could post would be a selling point. I thought my tank was stable, as I dosed cal/alk daily and add FW every night. It wasn't until I added a reefkeeper with dosing pumps as well as a FW topoff that I seen an explosion in growth and color. Before the dosing pumps I was using 22ml of 2part each, and it was a balancing act with the fear I was going to burn something. With the computer I just kept bumping up the timers and I am now dosing nearly 50ml a day, and still lacking a touch on my parameters. It seems the gradual addition of supplements as well as FW has made the coral much quicker to absorb it. I also haven't missed a 15% wc every Sunday in almost a year.

nope, your right, and I should source what I say, I completely agree and apologize.

with regards to this case, I dont have permission to source it :) so I'm gonna say my own finding. oh and PS. I meants ZEOVIT's pohls corals snow, not the other stuff called coral snow. PCS is mix of calcium-mg components, and ...

What do you guys think about Seachem Reef Plus?

I've tried Reef Plus a number of times on my reef tank to try to improve colour. I have noticed ZERO improvement in coloration, both when I dose as per the instructions and when I dose more. Since then I have ordered iron (Kent's), potassium (brightwell), and potassium iodide fluoride (zeovit). I'll try those and see how they go. I am intrigued by those who claim that iron improves greens, iodide improves pinks, and potassium improving blues. We'll see whether this holds in my tank.

nope, your right, and I should source what I say, I completely agree and apologize. but still comments like dont get him started is prety useless, not sure if you agree or not ... I'm sure hundreds of ppl did not know about mixing PCS with Zeovit foods, and after seeing my post they researched it and maybe tried it and ... I dont want to take credit, I just think sharing info is the greatest thing we can do in this hobby, info are too scattered. I have no problem with anyone saying what I do is wrong, cause I can learn from that, but to say dont get him started is just something else :) there are a bunch of reefers in my area, which laugh when I say best food for SPS is fish poop ! while its proven fish poop has alot of nutrition ! they just dont have enough info, and dont want to change their mind or method or ... so they laugh at me instead :)

sometimes a couple times a day even. but yes, the Idea is the same, and zeostart2 contains a mix of vodka, sugars, and vinegar. source : me and Zeovit info

Do you have personal experience.... I mean have you drank it?

No I have not drank it. but I have performed the sniff test.

PS. once again, do not blame me for your lack of info ! Zeostart2 is one of the only Zeovit products that they tell u whats in it, CARBON SOURCE !!! what are carbon sources ? ethanol in vodka (no I am not sure of the brand Zeovit uses, I have heard grey goose though, they seem classy) vineager (no I have not seen MR. Pohl shopping for it) and sugar ;)

I really hope this one was a joke or just to break my .... lol

but if you are interested to know more. check out Zeovit forums :) some great info there. and u can ask bob or G. alexander there if they have tasted the blue bottles

You only have a nano.. no need to drop tons of additives on it. A good old water change, low-nutrient, proper feeding approach is good enough. I would maybe add drops of Amino Acid and that's it. Forget the blue lighting for pop... I would use a strong 10K (like an XM 10K) and a VHO Super Actinic. The thing is that most 20K lamps tend to "wash out" the tank color.. 10K is full spectrum that brings out the reds, greens, and yellows... the 420nm actinics bring out the flourescence of the corals, and also enhances the blues.

I totally agree. I also wanted to comment that the higher K reading bulbs tend to not have as high a PAR reading as you would get from the lower K bulbs. I don't know specifically what you would get with your particular setup but it is a well known trend. Also the higher K bulbs tend to lose their intensity pretty fast. I would probably use a 10K bulb myself and keep your actinics.
