Best auto feeder ??

Reel North

New King of Quarantine
Here the scoop.

My led reef brites come on around 4 pm, and my main lights are on 6-1 am or so.

I'm not home generally until 6-6:30pm, and leave the house around 6am. As a result, my fish aren't eating enough.

I feed frozen by hand when I walk in the door, and once again before bed.

I want to feed them at least once (Angels, so they will eat whatever goes in there - pigs) with pellets twice a day.

I have an apex, but the reviews are pretty lousy.

Recommendations or experience?

They will sit freestanding but it would be best to have something like velcro to secure, I have knocked a couple in the water, it's pretty easy to do!lol (why I've had a few)

Eheim!
I have mine either on a shelf above the tank or just on the euro brace.

One day I knocked one into the tank and thought it was a gonner. But after taking it apart, rinsing everything first with tap water and then with RO and blowing it dry with caned air it is as good as new.

BTW, they have a new one that allows to feed 2 different types of food at different times.

They've had the twin chamber that allows that for some time now, it does work well, I've had a couple over the years.

I too rinse and dry out, and i have 2 single feeders right now as a result
I'm wondering how many times I can get away w/ doing that.
Note to self, get some dang velcro!

I built an acrylic holder with a feeding tube that extends down below the water line so the food doesn't get sucked down the overflow for my Eheim auto-feeder.
This picture is from my old rimless tank, I built a new one for my current euro-braced tank, but it gives you a good idea of what it looks like.

I started using an Intellifeed feeder I bought from Amazon over a year ago. I used a plastic tie to attach a feeding ring to its bracket and found it very reliable.

I got an eheim from brs and set it up in 5 minutes.

It is pretty boring. Feeds the fish when I told it to. Love that!

Seems everyone concurs. But I'll throw out there that I feed NLS pellets in my Apex one with no problems. 9 fish, 3 fee dings each day (I bought it when I got my first Anthias and knew I needed more than just the evening). For me, it works great. About fifteen minutes before it goes off all 9 fish are huddled under it.
Oh, and yes to Velcro.

Are the Neptune AFS really that bad? Is there a particular issue with the devices? I'm setting up 2 in one aquarium and 1 in the other system

I have an Apex Autofeeder and it's been fine for me. I saw all the reviews about people dumping food in and it hasn't happened to me. I feed the Apex pellets and flakes from the same feeder.
