Best islands for SNORKELING in South Pacific?

Looking for some advice from you far-travelers.

We're planning a family vacation for next March/April for the South Pacific. I am curious about people's perspectives on the best areas for snorkeling. I am a Master Scuba Diver / Dive Master and have been on tons of dives around the Caribbean, but have only dove Hawaii (lots) and Tahiti (twice) in the Pacific.

What we loved about Tahiti was the fringe reef and the fact that you could float around in the lagoons with literally no waves and constant 86 degree water :) Coral heads came close to the surface and you could float around effortlessly and observe clams, anemones, fish, etc, at very close distances while there were still some interesting deeper areas by the channels.

We have been thinking about Fiji... but don't really have any experience. We will be traveling with two kids, 15 and 10, both of whom are expert swimmers. My wife likes nice lodging, too, so nothing too rustic :)
