Hey guys,

Was wondering if anybody knew some good online vendors other than the mainstream ones. BlueZoo, Live Aquaria, ETC just wanting to check some other places out and c whats out there. Not that those aren't good ones cause Blue Zoo is the [profanity]. Kinda figured there was some maybe some smaller places that aren't as well known.

Cheers Dan:beer:

I use Tidal Gardens. Love their video series. Check out the slo mo of corals eating. Lots of good info there. I also have used Reef Kingdom. Great customer service!
Those two are the best I found for corals so far.

Thanks Morgan,

Those are 2 awesome sites that I have never seen before this is what I hoping for some of the smaller sites tend to have corals that are more rare. Some of those bright Aussie Acans are nuts!

I've been very satisfied with Blue zoo aquatics - they take every measure to ensure quick transit times and their free shipping on orders over 140 is lower than the competition.

I tend to try to snag frag pack either on RC's for sale forums, or on ebay. You can get some EXCELLENT deals if you aren't after than one particular coral. I don't really care about rare species, I just like color, variety, and value. I recently got 26 SPS frags for $250, including some rare-ish ones.

Depends on what you're looking for. My favorites are:

LiveAquaria
Battlecorals
Unique Corals
Cherry Corals
Vivid
YourReef

If I am feeling flush with cash, Rocky Mountain Frags & Atlantis Aquariums have good stuff. Reef Raft USA has some crazy pieces...for some crazy prices.

Battlecorals is in need of a serious website upgrade because he has some amazing pieces.

True. But I'd rather have quality corals and a dated website than a slick website and ho-hum corals.

Are those prices for a colony? I guess it's rare stuff, since I haven't heard of any of them, but prices sure seem high to me.

Frags, but they are good sized frags, and most importantly they are very healthy. Adam's prices are not too high, but a little above some. Check out Extreme or Reef Raft if you want pricey.

I guess it's all relative. To me, an entry level graphic designer, $100 for a frag is far and away into exorbitant territory. I'll gladly stick with the more common stuff for $10-$50 a frag.

Agreed. I can't go crazy at the pricier vendors. But for me there are two different types of coral vendors. When you are first starting out, the cheaper stuff is good, because you're tank is empty. As you fill out the tank, you start looking for fewer, but nicer pieces.

IDK about ebay, but RC classifieds, and local club swaps or local reefers is probably the best way to get great deals on frags.

Great thanks a lot guys I will check those out. I did not know you could get coral from Ebay seems kinda squrelly to me lol but I will check that out as well.

There's nothing squirrely about ebay. They have really strong buyer protection polices, especially through paypal. It can actually be kind of annoying as a seller. I lost my butt selling an 48" 6 bulb ATI Sunpower here on RC. I specified it was used and in working condition, and posted pics.

Buyer got it, and found some minor corrosion on a couple reflectors and decided he didn't want it. Instead of covering the expensive return shipping, I bought the fool new reflectors. I later saw him reselling the light in the for sale section for more than he bought it for.

Sorry for the rant, point being, ebay and paypal are quite safe for the buyer.

Well the best online vendors are often times the people selling frag packs here on RC, but I've purchased frags/packs from Vivid Aquariums, LA, Pacific East, and Tidal Gardens. I like Tidal gardens the best mainly because I live down the street their greenhouse. Amazing corals and great prices.
