look at the NYS DEC fish hatcheries. Those Salmonoids get fed pellets. No doubt over the years they've figured out what some of the best ingredients are to feed those fish.

His name is Jame Nicholes. I believe he is only a vet tech now. But in school he had Her come in and do presentation on fish disease. I believe she is located right in Orchard Park. I will find out!

Would be nice to have someone like that on here. I emailed her and asked what she would need from me to get intercepter. She told me I would need to bring it down so she could look at the coral in question. Also that she has heard about using intercepter on red bugs in the past. For her to want me to bring it to here shows she is close.

Thx for the tip Gary! We picked some up yesterday at ABC...everything seemed to eat it rt up. Coral Beauty, maroon pair, Val Puffer, Striped Blenny, Watchman. Even the pistol shrimp whom we never really see, came out of his den to taste test! It was great to see it's colors after a month of being in the dt...lol...thx again!

I purchased a 5 lb bucket of Spectrum Mini Pellets a little over a month ago. About 3-4 times a week I'll toss in a scoop of pellets into our big reef tank in the morning and sometimes will swap out pellets for a normal feeding. About 2 weeks after I started doing this, one of the other members of the live collections team (who had no knowledge of the new food) stopped and asked me if I thought the fish looked more colorful than normal. I think this stuff is great, I have no plans to stop using Spectrum.

I've only ever used ORA Glo but I'll have to give this stuff a try now. Definitely expect me to stop by ABC within the next week G!

I'm currently trialing Rod's food. I've also notices a concominant resurgence of cyano. Coinikidink? I'm not so sure. Previously I'd fed nothing but mysis and brine, though I'd dropped the brine a few months back. When the current pack of Rod's is done, I'm going back to mysis. YECH!

experiencing similar reactions to Rod's Food. Back to previous mysis/brine combo for me as well.

yep, I just quit rods and went back to mysis after a cyano outbreak. I thought it may be a mix of feedings and old GFO. got new gfo and stopped Rods and the cyano is quickly dissipating. Maybe Ill pick up some spectra tonight at ARC.

never had the cyano prob before..and although my corals seem to love the stuff...it's quickly becoming a noticeable problem...one that i don't want to deal with.

Anyone have any thoughts on what it is in the Spectrum pellets that promote such great color in the fish?!?

I will have to say that the color in my fish has never looked as good as they do since feeding Spectrum. My Niger Trigger has such a deep blue/purple. Something I have never seen on any similar Trigger.

I am amazed at the fact that my Black foot Lion fish is now eating standard spectrum pellets. A month ago he would hardly eat frozen krill and clam strips strapped to a feeder stick dangling in fron of his face... this food is worth every penny
