i have a euro reef 135 and ive been doing some research but i want to get your guys input on these skimmers for a 70 gallon tank

ATB
ATI
Bubble King
Fauna Marin Ultra-Skim
KZ Revolution (Korallen-zucht)
Vertex
Warner Marine

Thanks in advance Carlos

I think you will have to list 1. Dollar amount you are willing to spend 2. internal or external 3. which model of each 4. Space you have to fit the skimmer (available foot print)

Of that list the ATB, ATI and bubble King are nice... The WM depending upon the model... I would also add the MSX 200 in there as well.

I own an ATB medium skimmer for over a year now. It is a quality skimmer, no doubt but I recently got an I-Tech 100 (small) cone skimmer for my frag tank. Its about 80 gallons total water volume. I must tell you I can't believe how well this thing skims. Best of all it is about half the price of even the ATB Econo models and 1/3 the regular ATB. I am running the Aquabee pump and it pulls 9watts and is dead silent. One heck of a skimmer. I am going to run it on my display (approx 125 gallons total water volume) when I get that back up and running.

I've also owned a Euro Reef, ASM G3, Aqumedic Turbofloater as well and I just about gave them away after I got the I-Tech.

You can check out their website at www.i-techskimmers.com and see the I-Tech running side by side with the ATB. I've been testing the output of both on my system and you can read the results. Quite amazing.

With your sized tank I think you might want to get the 200 model but I'd ask John (RC handle -Ichthyman) or you can contact him thru the website.

hop i am looking for a internal i have enough room in my sump and for price it does not matter cause i rather spend more then to save and have to buy a new skimmer in 2 years again thanks

Chris- thanks for that link i saw the result and the I-Tech looks good and

I have a DAS and I really like it, it also has an Aquabee pump.. I have a DAS EX-1, but for a larger tank you would want the EX2-EX3, or BX2-BX3.

I am using a Warner Marine and have been real happy with it and Jon is great to deal with.

BK all day long!! I have a BK SM200 on my 300gal system volume and it rocks! Best skimmer i have ever used.

Then I would go wth a bubble king rated for twice your system volume. I would, but I don't have the 8 grand;)

hmm, if you still got the 300 gallon tank you have in your info,

the BK 300 is rated twice your system,

and goes for around 2 grand,

the only BK for 8 grand is for a 3000 gallon tank,

He was asking for the best:D

Bubble King DeLuxe 650external I rounded up to 1000 gallons cause why not have room to grow:lol:

that would be a lot off growth in a 1000 gallon:lol:

the 650 is for larg tanks, 3000gallon plus,

let me take a wild guess and say, would be a bit much for the 70gallon,

Ahhh. The site I was looking at said 1000-3000... But hey, he would almost double his system volume in skimmer alone:D

Sorry the April Fools mentality was taking over, plus work is boring and I don't feel like tackeling anything major at this point of the night!

Hop that will be intense skimmer hahaha do you think cone skimmers are the way to go now and what about that new BK/vertex cone skimmer

You dont need to oversize a BK skimmer. Its not like other skimmers. Its very efficient. You could do a Mini-180.

Just to give you an idea, I use a BK SM-200 which is rated up to 400 gallons. I have roughly 350 gallons in the complete system. If you can afford one you will not be disappointed. I clean my each day. I do skim wet. Check this crap out!!
