Best tanks from around the world.

Very nice! what method are you using?

Thank-you! The only method I use is the Berlin Method, but I do use B-Ionic 2 part because the kalkwasser is not enough to keep up with the calcium and alkalinity usage.

Who's that one is truly amazing! My favorite yet!

Thanks! It's mine. I know that's not good to do for this thread, but I hope you agree it belongs : )

Amazing tank! You only have 2 6105 for flow? How do you position them? Any chance I can see picture of the position? I am having a hard time adjusting my 2 6105!

I actually only use one at a time. I point them from the back corner of the tank to the opposite front corner, but I point them up and over the corals so basically the flow goes corner to opposite corner, and I alternate the flow every 6 hours but the Tunzes pulse on their fastest rate. When they are newly cleaned they tend to blow some sand, but within a day or two the settle in no problem. But I want to emphasize that I only use one at a time and I think this works because (although it doesn't look it from the photos) my corals have a very open structure and the tank has large open areas which allow generally good flow in every corner of the tank.

Very beautiful set-up JPMagyar.

Thanks! I know it's gauche to post one's own tank on this thread, but I admit I had a couple glasses of wine, and let pride get the better of me last night. Plus I think my tank is doing well right now so why not share it with the world :p

Jp, awsome tank you have. You got some serious lighting on that tank too, other guys would have settled for 250w instead.

Beautiful Tank, 3rd picture, is it, is it, is it, the

Tyree Purple Monster

Thanks, and yep that's a Tyree alright. Got it from Kedd Lytonsmith who was TOTM back in '02 I think and he says he got it from Tyree himself. Kedd was a very early and successful SPS reefer who corresponded with Steve directly.

simply stunning!!!

Thanks a bunch!

Truth is I just started an experiment this week and replaced the two back bulbs with 250s. I've been contemplating a change to all 250s ever since I put the LED strips on. They really kick up the light level a lot. I had to raise the hoods several inches after adding the LEDs to keep certain corals from bleaching. I think for actinic supplementation blue LEDs are simply unbeatable. I really love how the tank glows with orange, green, pink, and red fluorescence in the evening.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words!

Amazing tank! Was it hard to keep the anemone to stay there?

nice tank and i agree that it rivals any sps type tanks! i don't recall putting "sps" in the thread title! thanks for posting! i would love to see the best colorful aquascaped as natural as possible tanks from around the world period! not necessarily, large sps tanks. This was meant to inspire us to keep on top of our game, something to strive for because any hobbiest would agree we can never get good enough before we try to make our tanks alittle better somehow.

He probably said it because the thread is in the SPS section. :)

JPMagyar, wow your tank. :eek1: I must have looked back at the pics about half a dozen times over the past few days, top draw, up there with my very favourite tanks, ever. I adore the aquascaping, fantastic effort!
