Ok, install went well; now, how do I arrange the tiles?
The overall style updated, however, it looks nothing as clean as in the example.

Also, how do you set the ipcam up?

All updated. Web cam "tile" working with Trendnet TV-IP410. Can anyone tell me the functional difference between Local URL and Remote URL? Also, some type of color indication of the outlet state would be a nice addition. Green=on, Grey/Red=off. Maybe an alert tile in the same style as the feed cycle tile that shows the alter status.

OK, I'll shut up now. :)

Where do we post or send feed back on beta testing?
From the beta firmware page: "Before emailing us about a bug, please check the Neptune Systems Reef Central forum to see if others have already reported it. If you do not see your issue there, then please add a new thread or email us at support@neptunesystems.com to inform us of any difficulties you may have."

Or just post your feedback or question here in this thread, as others have been doing.

Please post the exact URL (starting with the slash after the domain name and port) for the benefit of others. Neptune will be compiling a user-contributed list of tested camera URLs.

Local is for direct access to the camera on your home network. Remote is mainly for use by those people who take their notebook away from home, and still want to view the video - you'd enter the URL used to access the camera across the Internet. The Apex will first try the local URL, it that doesn't work, it will try the remote URL

Click the Edit link on the right side of Dashboard page 1, 2, 3, or 4. Drag unwanted tiles to the box on the right, and drag & drop the ones you want to see, arranging them as desired.

You have 4 separate dashboards... this is especially useful for those with larger/more complex systems... for example, you can have one dashboard for your FOWLER and one for your reeftank.

Dashboards, by default, have all probes and outlets displayed. Make it as clean or cluttered as you see fit :)

Buttons would be easier to notice than text links.
At first, I had the same thought. But then, I thought that once you've gotten your layout set, it's probably something you won't change frequently, so my hunch is that Neptune decided to keep it simple and subtle.

A couple of points to help get started with this new software:

1. Clear your browser cache if anything doesn't look right. In fact, do it before you bring up the dashboard the first time.

2. You can test your web cam feed separately in a different browser window to see that the URL is correct. If you have a problem getting the feed to work in the Apex tile, right click in the tile then select "open image in new tab". Here's a link to a web site that has the video streaming URL for a variety of cameras https://github.com/ingenuitas/SimpleCV/wiki/List-of-IP-Camera-Stream-URLs. Note that the URL they give you assumes you plug in your camera's entire IP or hostname address and port BEFORE the video stream portion. So their example of http:///videostream.cgi means you would actually use http://192.168.0.101/videostream.cgi.

3. Sometimes the web cam won't work because it wants you to authenticate. See #2.

4. The panels don't dynamically resize if you move between computers with different sized displays (for example one at work and one at home). You'll need to define separate Dashboards (you have 4) for that.

5. You can position tiles over the 'Unused Tile' panel - just make sure your cursor is positioned at the far left of the tile you're dragging so the cursor doesn't go into the unused tile panel.

6. If you have a problem getting your Dashboard to display properly, first see #1. If that doesn't work, try a different browser. It's been tested on Safari, IE, Firefox and Chrome but there's all sorts of different versions out there. If the browser version is the problem, please post back here.

So I did the update and all seems to be working well. But now I have an alarm going off, any idea what would have caused that?

Check your outlets and make sure that while dragging tiles around you didn't turn an outlet to ON by mistake.

Very cool, I'll give it a try.

It would be nice to include username and password fields for the cam tile to avoid the secondary log in prompt.

Would really be "nice to have" the tiles disabled while in the UI edit mode. More than once I accidentally clicked on an outlet name in the tile while dragging it. This takes you to that outlet config page and discards all the UI changes made. Needless to say, this was very frustrating before I figured out what I was doing.
