Beta of new Apex firmware now available!

You can move the tiles anywhere you want on the pallet - even over the Neptune logos. So if you need that screen real estate, then go for it.

Browser version?

The new webpage is not compatible with IE 10 currently and it was too late in the product cycle for Neptune to fix it before the beta.

Thanks, I am running IE 10 on Windows 8, after checking using Google Chrome on my Andriod it appears its working like it should there. Thanks, ill await the fix and make do for now. Great work guys, really love the new layout. Now if we could only get some Android App love soon !!

Trying to update - NO JOY!

Current firmware is 4.12_5A12

I'm on a Mac, 10.68
Usually use Firefox 16.0.2
ApexFlash 1.0 (30)

It finds my Apex fine and claims it's going to update to 4.20-BD10

I keep getting 'Failed unlock attempt, retrying: Connection refused'
This keeps up for awhile then times out.

I'm hard wired from router to Apex and have no issues with connecting to it for data. I can telnet to it, I can access via internet. It sends out data to reeftronics.

I've cycled power on the Apex and restarted the Mac.

Any ideas on fixing this?

Make sure your Mac is not talking wireless to the router. This should work but sometimes it seems to create havoc. Connect the Mac hardwired to the router if you can.

If that doesn't work, while still connected hard wired

Unplug your controller
Start the utility loader, enter the params and select Update Firmware
Wait for the timeout message
Plug the controller back in
Hopefully the controller will shake hands with the loader and proceed OK

Sorry I didn't mention it, I am already hard wired to router. Airport is OFF!

I tried what you suggested and still NO JOY!

A screen shot of ApexFlash status...

I've seen that error before. There's one other possibility but rather than run you around, send that screen shot to support. Paul should get back to you quickly.

Well..

Well..

Here is what I get to look at. It looks perfect on my phone, but laptop is a different story...

This is the same for any of the dashboards I try to select. Any help? It won't load at all, but the older version works fine.

This isnt a major thought and I havent tried it yet but is it possible to embed a picture with the special tile? I dont have nor will I have a camera on my tank but take macro shots of my tank. I would like to put one of my shots on my dashboard...

Contacted Paul, he returned my email in one hour, six minutes. Had the right answer and I'm now ready to study up on dashboard! That's some really slick tech support!

Thanks for all the help, Alan and Paul.

What did he have you do?

Rude of me not to include the answer!

Connected the controller directly to my Mac. Since my controller has a manual IP, the only issue to deal with here is reconfiguring the 'Network' system preference.

It needs to be set to manual, have an IP similar to the controller and you are good to go for direct connection.

Since my controller is at 10.0.1.22, I set the Mac to 10.0.1.25.
Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
Router to 10.0.1.1

For those out there not totally comfortable with the Network sys pref, I suggest you add a 'Location' (apex direct, for instance) before changing your working settings, switch to that new location and make changes. When you are done it's super simple to switch back to your working location and you have the direct connect location available when you forget how you did it last time! :lol2:

Love the new look!!! and I will apologize if this was asked already or if it’s off topic but how do you get the feed and time to show on the dashboard?

I am really excited by the ability to integrate a web camera feed directly into my apex site.

Is it possible to have more than one camera? For example, one for the display and another for a sump or refugium.

Also can the (pH, Temp, ORP) graph's veritcal y-axis scales be fixed to a specific min/max values versus autoscaling?

how do you get the feed and time to show on the dashboard?

Do you mean the current system time and the feed mode buttons? They should be at the bottom of your pallet or in the Unused Tiles drawer.

If you mean the countdown of seconds remaining for a feed cycle, I'm afraid that's only on the display.

Everything is working fine so far except for the date, it is showing October instead of November on the new dashboard. If I switch to the old dashboard it shows up correctly.

One to many Gin and Tonic!!! should have scrolled down! Thx!!!:thumbsup:
