I think the real nerve lies in someone spouting a bunch of retoric about clubs and LFS without any thought of reprocussions to the club itself seeing how those views are being spouted under the clubs forum. I can only speak for myself, but I dont think there's a person here who would care if these discussions ran rampant as long as they were in a desingated place for it such as vendor experience in this case, or maybe "Nu2SW's greater sacramento area free for all forum"?
But knowing what the MARS club is and what kind of philosophy as a club they subscribe to (which is clearly in black and white in there mission statement @ http://www.marineaquarist.org ) it should be made obvious to anyone that this is the wrong place for promoting alienation and antagonistical views.

I'm not here to publicly call out anyone in particular. Nor have you seen me bash a LFS. But when people do there are those that automatically come to the LFS side, which i dont agree with.
DO i think the donations are good, yes. and keeping a good repour with the LFS is a good thing.
But i think being honest with them is a good thing also. Like if you see sick fish etc. I think you as a customer should tell the workers about it. Does that mean publicly calling out a LFS, probably not.
I take part in the raffles every month and appreciate them and the people that get them.
BUt until MARS makes a rule against people bashing LFS then people are free to do so.
I wouldnt mind if we took a vote at the next meeting and voted against people bashing LFS. I dont even know if we can do that. but if we can it is something that needs to be brought up so there are no more of these threads.

Daniel, you and I both know I tried to rectify your concern. I really did not see the point in answering all your questions when the main concern to me was that you were unhappy. When a customer of mine is unhappy, I usually a refund their money back and that makes them happy again
The Sunset you got is true lineage. I got 3 directly from Steve himself, from Hugo (Snipersps) and another from Greg Caroll (GCaroll). If this is a fake like you claim, then all of theirs are too (which I highly doubt.)
I told you that I was experimenting with T-5's in one tank and it was pasteling a lot of corals (which I thought looked cool). Another thing that could have contributed to the flat growth is the Epoxy it was growing on. I extended the rock it was growing on with epoxy to create a saucer like surface so it would be easier to frag rather than it growing in a ball.

here's the pics if it works, The first is when the frag first arrived, the second pic is 5 weeks later, and the third is of my piece not obtained through Fragfarmer. I'm not some evil person thinking that the man's out to get me. I share what I expierience in this hobby, it's too bad everybody thinks you gotta kiss the well known vendor's asses or else you're blacklisted from the reef society. This aint a hierarchy, but for some here it seems that way. Wierd. The idea of seeing if the pieces can grow together is a good one of which I had considered from early on, but I'd hate to see the beautiful spotless colony have a blemish! Now I have to try it damn it, to put this to rest..... for everybody's sake, and mine. And Eric's post tells of what I said is true.

sorry second pic is of the other frag obtained through YR, the third is of the FF frag 5 weeks later....I'll post the pics of the frag and a better close-up to see the corralites better of what it looks like to this day.

Maybe just give it some time to color backup. It probably lost it's color or browned out from the shipment and introduction to a new system. Most if not all my LE's I've got from places/prople even if it's been out of their tank for less than an hour usually looses some color or browns for some time before regaining it in my tank. HTH.

From your pictures, it looks to me that pictures 2 and 3 are the same critter and are coloring up the same in your tank.
If so, you achieved your goal of buying 2 of the same thing.
As for coloring, everyone knows colors change depending on the water parameters, lighting, and stress on the coral.
Even when we can pick out a coral out of a tank at the LFS or a Swap, many times the coral will look different in our tanks.
If you really want to know for sure that they are the same critter, you can always bleach them and study and compare their skeletons.
Since they seem healthy, I'm sure if you don't like them, someone will buy them off you.

most danae s and verrucosa's will lose color and not fully open for days on end in a new system, these two speices are some of the more sensitive montiporids in my opinon.

Edwin, since you opened your mouth......YOU ARE THE BIGGEST REASON WE HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING RAFFLE DONATIONS. You are a Nope, let's not go there and the worst part of my job as PR is trying to get the shops to realize that you are just a loud mouth, insulting moron and not a good representative of the club. I have been to MULTIPLE LFS that said what a terrible expierience they had dealing with one of the board members of MARS. Sure enough they were talking about you every time. Lets also not forget the way you went after Pete, basically calling him a crook, or the way you reacted when your clown fish from the raffle died. You have no class, respect, tact, or understanding of what it is like to get along with others in a club. The best part is the way you play the poor me game when you open your BIG MOUTH and everyone goes off on you. I am sure you are going to give some "poor me" speech and say you are misunderstood. The problem is you are always this way and the fact that you are quick to tell all of the LFS owners you are a MARS member makes it even worse.

I actually just took Edwins advice and gave him my open opinion of his actions. The area that was modified in my post contained no profanity whatsoever and may be viewed as harsh but I have PM'ed him before and nothing has changed. In response to your question: I just attempted to show that the club will not put up with anyone who hurts its image through unruly action on a repeated basis. While you may object, and I respect your opinion, I have several pm's stating that it is about time someone put a stop to his nonsense. If you had the displeasure of hearing the way Mr. Silva represents MARS in the stores you might feel that my response was not critical enough. This is not me overreacting to one incident, but a repeated number of problems.
I genuinely appreciate your caring of the day that I have had, but that was not the reasoning of this post. I just want to say that the part of my post that was edited once again may have been critical, but was not profane or vulgar. I work my tail off at PR and one person such as this can undo in 2 minutes what it takes me several hours to accomplish.

The only LFS store I go to is yourreef and I highly doubt that he would say such a thing when he knows me very well and i travel over 30 miles to go to his store. And all the other stores I rarely buy from.
I've heard plenty about this club's past issues, and these problems you are having are not because of me. Vendor issues started even before I was around.
My advice wasnt to be a total *** about something. What you just did was slanderous and against the TOA that you always preach. You are a hypocrite and reflect very badly on the club. Especially as the PR person.
Since you seem so perfect and mr right all high and mighty. I hope you get banned for the way you acted.
