Bicolor Blenny Thread

Last time I had a bicolor blenny he was the spawn of the devil.

He'd sit on the rock waiting for the clams to open. Then he'd go from clam to clam nipping them until they closed. Then he'd go chew on a few acros until the clams opened. Then he'd do it all over again  .

I had one in my 125 about a year ago, and he was a coral eater, too! He would scrape the acros around the base until the skeleton was showing and take bites out of the leathers and softies. Thankfully he didn't nip the clams (At least that I saw). I tried for weeks to catch him without success, and one miraculous day he just disappeared!

I a trying to get more pics of my bicolor. He will not stand still for one second. He has tons of personality and is very funny to watch at feeding.

I picked one up have yet to snap pics yet but it is one awesome fish . but i also recently added a royal gramma and the two dont seem to get along? they're in a 180gal

Royal Grammas and Bicolor Blennys have the same color patters. Purple and Yellow. They probably think it is another one of their species so they don't get along. My Bicolor took about 2 weeks to get adjusted. He was really shy then and never came out of his hole in my LR. Now he loves to rock hop all around my tank. He likes to get as high as possible in the rock work.

i'll give them a bit more time to see if they will get adjusted. but so far both are eating and only charge at each other... but they have spots in two different rock structures but are living "across" from each other

I was considering adding one of these to a 28 bowfront Lps/ softy reef. Now after hearing stories of some of them going after corals, am a bit hesitant.. But it is a blenny how common could it be? I think I'll still pick one up...Thoughts on this please!

Mine is a model citizen. he never is agrssive to my clown and he never nips, eats, or pics at my corals. The only thing he does with my corals is site on them. Wich it is hilarous to watch.
