Big DC pump

OK, I did a search and got 100 WP40 & WP25 hits!

I'm looking for 2 or 3 big DC pumps. Submersible is OK and external will work too (if there are any). I need one to do 750-1000gph and 1 or 2 more to do 2400-3000gph. I like the idea of them being adjustable flow. And expensive pumps will be considered, but so will well made Chinese pumps. Even a Chinese pump that runs on 220v with an external power converter that I can switch out for a 110v to DC converter bought separately. Any ideas?

Thanks guys.

Hey Ron, I sent you a pm regarding purchasing 120 degree optics. Wasn't sure if you had a chance to read it. I need to get them soon. Let me know.

Sorry to hijak this thread.

Not a problem, I sent you an email. I have them, just need to know where to ship them?

Ron,
the Speedwaves are supposed to be made in Germany if that helps.

Thanks Vinny, the Speedwave looks like a good pump and they are willing to give out enough info (like head loss graphs) that make it easier to decide if it will do what any end user wants.

Any other suggestions? Even just brand names... I can search for better info once I have a name.

not much choice on DC return pump.
Waveline gen1 dc pump/jebao dc pump/diablo dc pump all share same(or similar) design, its failure rate is about 90% in my local community(my frds waveline dc10000 almost got on fire in the power supply, the pump was used about 2 months only.). it is very crazy.

if you want to buy a dc pump, maybe Aquabee up11000 is a good choice.

take a look at abyzz @ abyzz.de . they come in up to 400w. they are pricey though but built like no other.

If that was the case I would think we would see heavy complaints about them here and other forums. I haven't seen that. Mine Speedline DC has been running great so far, I must be one of the lucky 10%?:)

I can tell you their retailer in china forum admit that the gen1 failure rate is too high, offer an upgrade to gen2 options to all customers.

Actually, the pump failure complaints flood in the china forum.(I can tell you the link if you know chinese, maybe using google translate???)

All my frds experience a failure with that too. Maybe I'm the next one, so I'm planning switch to aquabee/red dragon now.

Just a warm reminder to you guys own a gen1 pump. I also hope gen2 really improve quality. I like this pump except the failure rate.

Your talking about speedline and he is talking about waveline.

Ron,
I have the Waveline 10000.
Lots of failure reports, spoke with Aquarium Specialty & they claim most of them are from batch 2 & 3. Mine is from batch 1 & so far so good.
The new models are not out yet on the 10000 but the 3000 & 4000 just arrived.
Supposedly after extensive testing.

Can these pumps, speedline, diablo, waveline, be used as an external pump or only submerged? I read something about running them external with a seal kit but they crack in the head plate when getting fittings tight is this true? I was thinking about a diablo possibly for a replacement but I need an external pump. Thanks for any info.

From what I've heard, the first shipment of the new Jabeo DC 10000 & 12000 pumps were just delivered in NYC ... Hope to receive mine within days.

Here is pic of my DC12000
