Well after moving SLOOOOOOWLY she finally stopped. Now it looks like she has found her spot. Its not a vey good viewing spot at all, But what are ya going to do. My clowns are happy living in a power head. (Dummies);) So far she has eaten 2 clowns, 2 cleaner wrasses, a few snails, and a cleaner shrimp.

Thanks much! Yes they will suck em down and dissolve the insides of the snail and spit the shell out like haddonisreef mentioned.

Would love a blue or purple haddoni too. But thats a ways off.

Yes they weer eaten in the 300 gal. The clowns were being hosted by the nem, I seen one get eaten. they were too aggressive with it and caused the nem to close up quickly and refused to leave it when it did so. The cleaner wrasses were casualties because the nem moved over their sleeping hole. The shrimp was eaten because it was trying to steal food from it and caused it to close similar to the clowns did.
The snails fell on it. I dunno why but some will drop when the lights come on. If they are over the nem it would be a death sentence.
I have had it around 4 mos. Its pretty big i would say 18 inches give or take.

I would say get some naturally hosting clowns for that gorgeous beauty! Something like clarkiis, saddlebacks, sebaes, or even something more exotic clarkii complex clowns like akindynos or chrysopterus if you can find some that want to live. Guaranteed they won't be on the menu and would make an amazing display.

Im very new to the world of anemones but I have to wonder why on Earth would you keep that nem in a display with fish if its known to eat them?
Its beautifull thats for sure!

Thanks. Winwood i wish i liked that complex of clown fish it would make it easier for me. :(

Everything you keep with a haddoni is fair game for it to eat even clownfish. I have heard of clarki and saddlebacks eaten by haddoni's too.

This would be an extremely rare occurance and I've never heard of it myself. Occ's and percs seem to be on the menu from time to time however.

lol I wouldn't call the living clowns dummies. More like smarties if they survived the carpet so far. Thats a very beautiful anemone. The deep red color is amazing.

Fish can learn. It is possible to keep fish in a tank with haddoni without them becoming food. You just have to choose your fish wisely, keep them healthy, and give them plenty of room to avoid the anemone.

I second Featherdusters, if the haddoni has eaten two clowns, then wouldn't your clowns be dummies if they went to the anemone?

And, I also second Winwood's advice to get rid of non-natural clown symbiotes and replace with natural haddoni/clown combos like the ones listed. I suppose it's possible that they could still be eaten, but those species have lived with haddoni for eons and instinctively negotiate that most notorious fish-eater of all the host anemone species.

Btw, that anemone is beautiful! Good luck with it.

I guess you could say i am the dumb one for putting non native clowns in with them. ;)
I cant stand the native clowns. I used to have a saddleback long ago. She was an evil fish, She flipped corals over, dug all over and would bite me all the time. That was without a male. I would hate to see if she was spawning. LOL Maybe thats why i dont like em??

The red and green are going thru posturing motions to each other. Dunno if its reaction to each other or just relation to the environment. They are stretching their mouths really long. Not gaping because they are still tightly closed, But the mouth slits are stretched very long. In a half an hour they are back to normal and stretch out in the light. My green one never did anything except eat prior to the red one.
Water conditions are fine and they look healthy.
