bio cube vs. aqua pod or any other brand

Hey!
I'm looking to start a nano reef and was curious if anyone had any feedback on a 29 bio cube vs. a 24 aqua pod or other brand or model. Which is the better product. I 'm planning on keeping it simple. Some live rock, a few clowns maybe an anenome, a few soft corals and some critters. Is 29G the largets available tank like this and is one better than the other.
Also, will the kit be sufficient enough to handle my needs.

There was just a thread, some guy measured the amount of water it took to fill his Biocube and it was only 23-24 gallons.

I doubt any all in one will work if you want an anemone unless you upgrade the lights. Check out www.nanotuners.com, they have MH setups, also the new JBJ Nanocube is going to be MH and only $400

what about the 24g aquapod with 150w hqi metal halides? It looks pretty good to me. Most of my friends have no problems keeping bubble tip anenomes with this setup.

thanks for that info about drsfostersmith. not sure about shipping cost, but thats about $100 less than I could find at any lfs.

Not exactly cheap but there is a larger tank.. the "Red Sea MAX 34-Gallon" - Dr. F & S carry the tank..

As far as I know lighting, and aggression... They tend to get big and are able to send their tentacles across most of the tank stinging other corals, esp in a 12.... I suppose it depends on which anemone you choose though, and how isolated it is.

Just to let you know that the biocube 29 does not mean that it is a 29 gallon tank. Oceanic advised me that the 29 was only a marketing designation. The representative advised me that the tank is actually 23 gallons.

I have been happy with my biocube so far, only had it a month though!
from what i hear anemones need good lighting and a well established tank! I would not add a nem for several months!

Oceanic is not the same company it once was. I got a BioCube 14, not even 14, on Dec 22, 06 and returned it due to bad lights and ballasts right out of the box. Returned that one last week after contious fan problems, one never worked, only after Oceanic now All Glass sent me the wrong size fans. Emailed and called and I have not heard from anyone yet. I am not the only one to have these problems with the BioCube line and so/so customer service. I know of many people who are happy with theirs also. Three strikes and their out for me. Good luck

I read that post and am hoping I will not have to deal with that! About the fans I am not sure but is one an Intake and the other an out take? I could be wrong!

kingfisher62, when I opened up the top to replace the ones I was sent, the wrong ones, I did notice thet one was label up and the other was down. So I would say one is exhaust and the other intake. I don't know for sure because the fan on the right side never worked. I did'nt even know a fan was their until I opened it up!!!

I have a 70Watt HQI Aquapod, Im pretty happy with it. I wish I waited about 2 months longer for the 150watt, just so i can have a bit more light intensive coral, but its a nice tank overall. I do have my eye on the Red Sea Max all-in-one, I really do like the clean and simple design. My aquapod has way too many cord coming out of it, while the red sea has just a single cord.

Wow. That Red Sea Max is very sweet. Plug and play in the ultimate way. Being a reefer as long as I have I must say this is a great deal. 34g would make a great goby tank too. Seems as they thought of everything? Could use a bit more lighting though. I will wait a few more months to hear some feedback from others before putting this one to the test in my home.
