Birds Nest Bleaching?

I just placed him in a 29g nano with a 150w HQI. He is close to the top whereas he was in a 180g 250w hqi midway down. Is it possible the light is too strong at that distance??? Im guessing that due to the bleaching only occurring on the topside of the branches.

Wrong forum or not, I'd agree... probably light induced bleaching. However, your calcium and alkalinity are way outta whack. No need for calcium that high, which is keeping your alkalinity too low. Is your pH OK?

Birds nest are usually the first to reflect an alk swing. A tighter control over alk will help you avoid these issues.

You should always put new corals on the bottom of the tank first then gradually move them up. The light may be to intense to soon.
