bitten by my morey eel !

naw i didn't save the teeth as they were very small and i just put them in the ask tray which is on its way to the dump within a few minutes .trash day ,omg i gotta put it out !

Having been bitten by two different morays myself I can sympathize with you. The rear jaw is what does the most damage.

I think our local hobby group is long overdue for a get together. I'm thinking something in the summertime involving a dunk tank or water balloons may be excellent therapy. :D

Dave,
Sorry to hear about the bite. Definately keep an eye on it though... When I recently redid my rockwork I ended up with one of the small vermetid tubes in the crease of my pointer finger. Even though I got the tube out my finger started to get infected the next day. Soaked it in a cup of hydrogen peroxide for a few hours and good as new. So my question has to be this... does the eel still have teeth left in his mouth for eating? I'm hoping you two can come to an "understanding" until you find him a new home.

Super kat. Great story. had a good laugh.

I suppose everyone has heard the scorpion and the frog story but here goes anyway.

The river flooded it's banks and the scorpion was drowning. The frog said "jump on my back ; I'll swim to a dry spot on the other side of the river for you". The scorpion did. As the frog neared the middle of the river the scorpion delivered a fatal sting. As the paralyzed frog began to slip under the water, he cried:"Why did you do that now we will both die". The scorpion replied: "It's just my nature".

Good to hear you will be alright!! are you gonna spring for some dentures for the eel now that its lost some teeth..?maybe a nice gold one up front, then he can join the gangster fish group.

oh we do understand each other ,the eel will have a home here till he can find a new one .
the teeth that broke off were his front teeth and he will have no problem eating in the future .eels often break the ends of there teeth off when eating especially in the wild where its a battle to get a meal .here in my tank i often see teeth shimmering on the sand after feedings .
solRNY ,nice link as i did not know about the inner "mouth",that is really cool . the eel bit me on the wrist and never got flesh in between his teeth rather he only made two points of entry about 2 inches apart . he simply was testing out the meal and quickly found out it was a bit on the large side .still think there is a tooth piece in one wound as there is a very hard pin like something in there .
