Blackthunda77's 80 Gal to 195 Gal upgrade!

Thanks for offering the sea star. I'm adding a clam in my tank soon and I have read they could bother it. Any past experiences about this?

Tank looks that is starting to thrive. Did you find out what was the problem with your water source?
No issues with clams either in regards to the sea star. Like I said, they are herbivorous so the only thing they really go for is algea and film algea. When mine wasn't looking so hot, I would throw it in the sump / fuge area for a couple weeks and it would bounce back.

As for the tank, thanks. I think things are finally coming around the corner for it. I didn't really do anything in regards to the water aside from acid bathing the rocks, removing the sand/fuge area from the sump. Also bumped up my cleanup crew with 3 fighting conchs, a turbo and a couple hundred dwarf ceriths I collected from Marco Island. The ceriths do a tremendous job keeping all the nooks and crannies clean on my "Marco type" rock.

Hi Marvin...thanks for asking, man. I know that my thread is overdue for an update. A lot has change in my tank. I will dust off that old thread of mine and write up an update soon.

So I think I found out why my female clown has been extra moody at me when having my hands in the tank...

Sweet! Can't wait to see what you've done.

This is another reason why I dislike clowns :) Although I'm tempted to get a pair of rose skunks. Lol.

Do you still have the group of cardinals?

Down to 1 cardinal, but only because of the semi tank crash a while ago. I'm thinking about restocking again, but they have gotten so expensive. I got them for like $5 each years back from Jeff at coral reef farm, but now they are always selling for like $12-15 each. For that much I'd rather just get more disbars, since the two I bought are doing great and have teamed up with my single lyretail.

I need to make some wholeseller friends again. Lol

I hear ya. Hydra has a sale on the bangaii for $10ea. I'm tempted to get a trio.

Updated tank shot. Nothing really different. Tank is maturing quite nicely. Have a little cyano I'm dealing with, but with each water change they are coming back slower and slower.

Got a couple "frags" of red monti from Jonathan. These are more like mini colonies. Placed them on separate sides of the tank and they are already blending in seamlessly as if they have been growing in my tank for years.

John tank is looking really nice.

Forget tank, I want to see the house!!! Lets have a BBQ dude!!
Eddie, if John doesn't want to BBQ you should try Michelbob's. Best BBQ around. When I was taking my flying lessons we would fly there just for the BBQ. Office staff always wanted us to bring them back the ribs. The airport would let us use their van to go get it. It's just down the road from the airport. The only problem with that was smelling it all the way back.
