I had this same issue I run a rsr 525xl from my calculations I assume I have 120 gallons of water due to displacement. Any way a month or so ago I found my mg at 1080, not as bad as your 600 but still off considerably. I used esv liquid mg and dosed the recommended amount of 1.5 ml let gal of water putting me at 180 ml of mg to raise a safe amount of 15 ppm per day. I was actually dosing 200 ml per day to make it simple bc I know I can get away with a little larger mg increase per day. Any way long story short my mg is now stable at 1400 after a month of dosing 200 ml per day. It cost me 30 bucks for the gallon of mg. Ez days.if I was you I'd do water changes once a week with 25 percent tank volume and on all other days dose liquid mg. Slow is better it will get there. Just my experience. Good luck.
