Bloke's 210g In-Wall

I tweaked the aquascaping just a little. Here are closeups of the two sides of the rock. There is an additional 75lbs of rock in the sump for a total rock weight close to 250lbs.

I believe I am going to run Par38 LED spotlights instead of running the 3x400w MH I had previously planned for. It seems like a smarter move to go this route to begin with than be forced the change in the future.

Browsing threads from the lighting forum, I found this light rack and display that looks amazing IMO.

Maybe it's just my monitor...but there seems to be some real dark spots in the picture above.

Build looks great so far...reminds me of all the brick I had to take out to put my tank in the wall :lmao:

Oh, the picture is darker. I like the darker/deeper look to the water as well as the spotlight effect. I think it is far better than the typical light-box seen so often.

I finally got the system completely plumbed. I ran a "T" into an existing 2" drain line to easily dispose of waste water when changing out tank water. I simply open the valve and pump the desired amount of water into the drain.

With everything plumbed and tank parameters stable, it's time to start the cycle!

Congrats,

really looking good.

Coming to CRASE in Oct?

You know, I'd love to. I haven't been since the first year. This is such a crazy and busy time and I don't think I'm going to be able to make it, but there's always a chance. Who's the headline speaker this year?

Sick work!!!

Thanks, reefermad!

BTW, I love your signature line...
You have more post than I do... you must be right then!
I guess I am going on my 5th year registered on RC (who's counting on number of years in the hobby), yet I have under 400 posts...it is funny how people will be on this forum for about a year (or less) and have over 1,000 posts and seem to have everything figured out. Ha ha! Cheers!

Looking great and tagging along. I especially love the brick work. How are you coming on your lighting decision?

I am going to go with PAR38 LED bulbs. I like the deep water look and the savings in heat related issues as well as energy usage.

Video - Sept. 7, 2011

I have begun to add a few fish to QT where they will sit for the next month.

Fantastic build. The brick was a fantastic idea and really makes it stand out from the norm. Your build is well thought out and executed flawlessly. Congrats.

Thanks, Genin. I have put a lot of thought into it so I hope it turns out as well as I've envisioned.

That rock on the right looks like an animal skull. Great job.

Ha ha! Not planned, but it kind of does! Keep it or change it?

nice looking tank/basement

Thanks! It's all coming together quite nicely! :)

Thanks! I put that in my sig when some dude wanted to argue that a bulkhead couldn't be ran backwards. I told him as long as the gasket was on the flange side, it didn't matter which direction it was. He said he had more post so he was right. What an idiot.

I checked the water to see how things were coming along. It looks like I need to add some more fish to get this thing really going... :)

My nitrates are at about 2ppm so I finally added some caulerpa prolifera to the fuge. When this stuff takes off it looks great!
