Bloke's 210g In-Wall

In more non-fish related news... I have the fireplace completely finished. :) This sits on the opposite wall of the fish tank and the bar will have the same stone work.

Wow this is like most "cribbed" out basement iv ever seen!!
The brickwork give an antique/vintage feel to the whole setup which is different. Great planning on the build.
What are your coral stocking plans? SPS & LPS or will there be some softies?
I'm a fan of the PAR38 bulbs. But do u like the spectrum they produce?
What colour temperature will you be using?
I was looking for spot light options for my new tank, I really liked the LeDio spot lights they have a good range. But since I was going for a SPS dominated build I opted for another lighting system with broader range. My tanks just 2.5 months old it's holding up pretty ok till now. Im documenting the build on my thread, but it's not grand as your amazing build.
But your ideas are inspiring me to get some LED spotlights to accentuate or highlight some select areas giving my tank an "abyss" look :)
The redesigned rock work looks much better and more aesthetic.
Good luck to ya and keep updating :)

Happy Reefing!!

I've been working on the rest of the basement so the tank progress has been slow. I've got everything painted and now it's time for some ceramic tile. As far as the tank goes, things have been moving along and items have come out of QT. I am still lighting the tank with the same single lamp bulb which lights the fish room. Ha ha!

Thanks and welcome to RC! Here is a picture of the sump.

The sump is pretty straight forward...Waters enters the sump after the first chamber which is setup as a refugium (under the light). I use a filter sock to mechanically filter the water and also to quiet down the splashing. Water is diverted into the fuge but regulated by a ball valve. Water then moves into the skimmer section where there is additional live rock and the SRO-3000 skimmer. The DIY calcium reactor will also share this space. From there it is over a bubble trap and into the return section where the heater is placed.

If you look above the sump you will see the GFO/Carbon reactors which are fed through the return pump (Panworld 150) and the space to the right of there will house the Reefkeeper system. Let me know if you have any questions about the layout.

I like the idea of a fuge since I can keep different macroalgae down there and possibly even sea horses. It's like a nano tank. :) Good luck with your system and let me know when you strat a thread of your own.

will do... I will prolly barrow an idea from melevs reef... I like the design had I will like prolly do a fuge... or a frag section... or both if i have the room... it is a 5' tank my sump is gonna be a mix of aetech design, melev reef, my own and some from the eshopp sumps... yes eshopps i love the simplicity of them

Finished laying hardwood floors and had carpet installed. I still need to set the same stone work that is on the fireplace around the front of the bar. It's all coming together nicely. She gave me permission last night to start directing ALL of my time on the tank once the basement is completely finished!! She really knows how to motivate me to get the rest of the job done! :)

Brought the Blueface out of QT and he seems to be doing very weel. He's been eating pellets and nori. There haven't been any issues between he and the Blue Angel. Still no lights over the tank. :)

On a second note & non-fish related work, I am finishing the stonework on the bar. I should have it done before the end of the weekend and will post an updated photo of the tank area.
