Still not eating. It's pretty sucked up.... Hopefully she'll eat. I've tried brine, mysis, mysis with spirulina, flakes, nori, and pellets. NOTHING will entice her to eat.

No. I am going to call them later. Tank is 48x24x20. Nothing is bothering it. I just looked at it and there is a flesh wound on its side

Do you see any signs of ich? Wound is from either scratching itself on a rock, or its being bothered by something else... What other fish do you have? Who is first to dinner when feeding? Try soaking some food in garlic to entice it to eat... There's also a product you can buy, I think it's called entice or something, basically a garlic flavorizer

Thinking more about it, there are symptoms of ich that don't show on the outside.. I believe they get into the gills etc and you can't see it.. But if it's scratching and not eating, it's a strong possibility of ich.. Tangs are ich magnets.. I don't quarantine my additions but usually if they are eating, they will beat the ich.. If not, probably won't be a positive outcome...

+1 and DD tells you what they are eating , granted it is kinda vague as far a why type specifically but it will give you a idea

I realize I'm bumping an old thread, but thought piggybacking onto an older thread would be better than starting a new one.
I have a 3.5" Naso tang that I picked up about a week ago. It was in my LFS' QT tank for about 3 weeks while I was setting up my new tank. It was eating well in his tank, but doesn't eat (or at least not that I"ve seen) within my tank. It swims along the back wall, and just now started venturing out to the display. I've tried Rod's food, LRS Reef Frenzy, NLS Pellets, New Era Algae grazer discs, Julian Sprungs Nori, and Chefzilla (local food from a board member). It looks a bit skinny, not drastic, but enough to worry me. No harassment or injury I've seen on it.
What else should I try?

See if your LFS has any lobophora variegata (encrusting brown algae) growing in any of their liverock tanks. It's pretty common and a nuisance but naso's go crazy over it.
Rubber band it to a small rock along with some nori, he should go for the lobo and eventually start on the nori.

I've had luck feeding live caleurpa to picky tangs of the Naso genus.
Live Ulva has always done the trick for me with all picky tangs especially those who are a little skinny. Also, I use capellini roe from the japanese market to fatten up picky fish. There aren't many fish out there that won't go for fish eggs and you can't beat the protein and fat content of fish eggs. Really puts weight on fish fast. It is part of my regular feeding for all of my fish and reefs too. Small enough to be good for zoos and other larger feeders and all fish love it. As a bonus it is usually about $11 a pound and lasts a while.
