Blue and Green Gigantea Purchase

Looked around for 1 gig and had in impulse to buy two! Had no idea the green on was so large... Starting to clear out some of my SPS for these guys.

Stated by the vendor to have received them Feb 24th. I received them March 29th so they have been sitting there for some time. The shop reported that it was never deflated.

I acclimated on Saturday and they settled into their current spots on Sunday. Been there since.

This time I have a QT running with cipro on hand, but I see no sign yet that I need it. Mouths are very tight, and no inflate/deflate seen. They have stayed as shown in the attached picture.

Yes, I got them from Aqua Dreams. Most of their stuff isn't shown on their website, but you can see some of it. He worked with me and we both watched the weather to find a good time to get them sent out.

I know that store, I noticed he had them online for awhile according to their stock list. an hr drive from me

50 gallon with a custom 30"x14"x17 sump (actual 20 gallons water in sump).

I'd definitely move that Birdsnest, whenever the Green fully expands, it will light it up pretty good.

Good luck with them both. Also watch the Vortech. Plenty of threads in here on Gigs getting too close.

Moved the birdsnest last night when I came home and saw he was barely touching it. My blue moved to the back right side of the tank overnight. Bad spot, during the day the green one opens up and will shade him.

He'll probably move again. Still tight mouths and no sign of inflate/deflate!

Get some foam covers on the Vortechs ASAP. Trust me! It only takes one tentacle to get stuck to drag the whole thing in. It's a huge mess to clean up and could take out other tank inhabitants. Nice looking gigs!

Yes, he is close isn't he. I just got the foam covers in a few days ago, not sure why I havn't put them on!

As an update, the blue one started declining downhill while the green one looked healthy. After a pump incident, I gave the blue one away.

Been 2 months and the Green one is as healthy as ever.

Where you located. My buddy just got a blue gig about 3-4 weeks ago for free due to a pump incident.

Yes, the blue gig got sucked into a Vortech and I quickly gave it away to an Asian even though I had Cipro. Didn't have time to treat it (was going out of town). Maybe he would have survived if I had left him alone? Oh well, hope its still doing well with your buddy. It was not a cheap anemone!

I was not the one who picked up Chaeto from you. I am also Asian though.
