Blue carpet smoking?

I am not sure but I think my carpet is dying. I got him about 10 days ago. His mouth has never closed it has just gone from wide open to almost closed. He has now settled in the center of the sand and seems to ooze smokey looking stuff from his mouth and edges. I dont think he is dead yet but i fear he is on his way. I have recently found out that he is a gigantea (purple spots on underside). I have read that the Haddoni version are a little easier to keep, is that true? I have MH lighting and excellent water. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

If you call grey stringy tissue flowing off the sides and out of the mouth skoke, then it is desinigrating most likely and it is too late. Usually this occurs with a gaping mouth, not a closed one.

it is kind of a milky looking and mixes into the water then goes away. I see a small tear in the side (not the foot) and it is coming out of that area also.

It may be time to check him, If there is a tear that it is prob too late. I am having a hard time with one now. If he smells very bad take him out before your tank suffers.

Smoke = bad IME. It's usally a bacteria infection in the digestive tract of the anemone (happens alot in carpet species). Sometimes it's sperm, BUT most likely a dying anemone. I would take it out once it becomes goo.
