I thought I'd post in the same thread rather than making a bunch of new ones. My anemone has been getting bigger and taking over the space in the tank, so I've had to move away everything in its path. One thing I'm curious about is what anemone "poop" looks like. Despite my years of owning anemones, I've actually never seen one "poop". (Blame it on years of being chained to a desk.)
Yesterday, my large blue anemone ate one of my cleaner shrimps. Today, it was spitting out large brown goopy blobs. My lighting is good, the anemone has not shrunk at all, it hasn't moved and it's mouth is very tight - all vital signs are good. However, I am naturally paranoid (by profession even), so I wanted to check that it's not expelling zooxanthellae (I think that's the correct word?). How does one tell the difference? All other things in the tank look fine (well, except for the missing shrimp).
