I put a small school of 6 chromis in my tank and there actually eating a out break of ick off my fish weirdest thing within two days they have it almost all gone does anyone have info on this subject

I think even whose dont eat ich. They eat flukes and other external skin parasites like isopods, anchor worms, etc., but ich buries under the skin of the fish and cannot be externally removed.

Perhaps they just remove the cyst then, as I have seen neon gobies "clean" ich-infected fish in my tanks and remove the white salt-grain ich cyst from tails and fins. I haven't kept cleaner wrasses, but assumed their behavior was similar.

Basically, ich is a pimple containing a lot of microscopic little ich organisms which head right down for the sandbed. So cleaners of various sorts can get the dead skin, but if it really is ich, it needs to be addressed.
