Just a heads up. When Jesse original birthed this contest, the format was to spend the week obtaining your photo. The contest thread gets posted Friday night for pics to be posted over the weekend. I think the logic is if we're randomly posting pics throughout the week, youll give away your creative ideas to be stolen

I thought about this earlier. Makes me wonder if we shouldn't start calling these " '(Topic)' Photo Contest Thread" to distinguish them from more normal photo-sharing threads.

The chestnut tree in my backyard provides shade in the summer, and then declares war on bare feet in the fall thanks to these spiky shells.

Thanks Jay. No, no tree yet. I did get the xmas lights out though for this. Here was my setup. Shot at f2.8. Deliberately underexposed. Dropped exposure, shadows and blacks more during post.

Im not happy with my previous submission as I don't think it really fits the subject matter. It has a nice background but calling it good Bokeh is a stretch.
