"Bonsai Reef" (SPS style)

Still looking good

Gorgeous tank. Nice job!

Love the way it's growing in, awesome work Todd.

Just amazing as always

Really beautiful tank!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the compliments.
Although I love the color I'm getting, the problem I'm starting to have is the easier SPS are growing at a far faster rate than the slower growth ones. I have a true Oregon tort, ORA Ice tort, sarmentosa and a few others that are doing well, but just grow soooooo slow. I guess I will just have to frag the faster growing stuff frequently if they start crowding the slower stuff until they get some size and can fend for themselves.

After a year and a half of encrusting and being a browned out ugly no name, this ugly duckling may be turning into a swan. It's finally branching out and showing some color. I still have no idea what it is. It may be wishful thinking, but it almost looks Pearl berry like to me or Desawalii (same thing maybe). Anyway, I didn't feel like turning off the reefbrites so the pic is a bit blue, but here it is.

Here is a quick 3 month update from a couple different angles. Not much has changed. The biggest change over the last 3 months was getting rid of the overflow box and installing an H2O overflow. It definitely gives the tank a much cleaner look without the box in there. Over the upcoming 3 months the plan is to add about 3 more acros I've been trying to get. Hope you like the update, thanks for looking:

Dang that tank is clean. Love it

Hey Franky, Thanks man! Any updates of your beast of a tank? I know the pics will be great as always.

Inspiring!

Thanks for the compliment! Much appreciated

How often and what are your great corals eating?

Because I have a low bio load I've been giving them 5 drops a day each of Korallin coral vitalizer and amino acids. Once a week I will do 5 drops of lugol's iodine. Thanks

Todd you said it. Beast of a tank. Problem is filing it up. No matter what I put in still looks empty
Yep, it will take a long while until that tank looks like your old 75, but you should still post some pics to see progress. You've got some great photography skills. Don't you want to show off some new pics? I'll be waiting

Hahahaha thanks. I have been taking pics for personal tracking and growth comparison just nothing worth showing really. Kind of embarrassing.

Hey guys, haven't posted in awhile. Reef is still in pretty good shape. I've made a few changes over the last few months. Got sick of nitrate dosing so I decided to pull the skimmer about 3 months ago and so far the tank hasn't skipped a beat (knock on wood). I also, sold the RW8 pumps and bought a pair of gyre 230's. They're louder than the RW8'S, but the flow is fantastic. So for now, I'm sticking with them. I still haven't added the extra fish I wanted to, but hopefully over the next few months. Here are a few recent shots. When I look at some of the past photos, things look like they're finally filling in.
Full tank shot (back glass is dirty) to lazy to clean it.

Under the hood, notice something missing, NO SKIMMER
