bought a new GBTA today :)

Thank you all ;)

I am sure once it regains its health it will color up nicely. It has lovely green flourescent stripes that my camera will not pick up.

Can someone please help direct me to a site/forum where they discuss acclimating GBTA? I'm picking one up this evening, and I'm a little nervous. It's my first anemone so I don't know much about acclimating it. Treat it like a fish? FW dip? Iodine dip?

I appreciate the guidance.

Pipedream, your GBTA looks great!

Thank you. Today he is withdrawn into the rock but has planted his foot.

Hopefully your tank is ready for an anemone, but when you get it...
I just let the bag float for about 15 minutes and then put it on a drip for an hour and a half to two hours. I never put LFS water in my tank so when it comes time to get him in the tank I just scoop him up and place him in a low flow area. That's it in a nutshell. Good luck!

You are very welcome. How did it go? Did you buy it?

As you can see, he is firmly planted in the rock now and the clowns have left him alone. The lights had just turned on so everyone looks surprised, LOL. I have been slowly taking the sand out of this tank and doing 50% water changes when I remove any since we are relocating in about two weeks. The move is basically right across the street but I hate moving with any sand in a tank.

As you can see, he is still bubbled up, mouth tightly closed, is eating and is firmly planted where I put him. He seems to like his spot. Sorry he was expelling waste in this pic but I wanted to go ahead and update.

looks great. what have you been feeding him?

i noticed something really odd the other day...mine have never had bubbles...but my foxface was pulling a long piece of caluerpa next to him, fighting with it for a few minutes, and the nem started bubbling on that side.

Some bubble and some do not. My RBTA only gets bubbles when it is stressed. The GBTA has had bubbles since I first saw it in the LFS.

I feed them Silversides, Mysis, plankton (large), and Krill. Sometimes if the clowns do not eat a whole cube of Formula one frozen, I give it to the anemones and they love it.

In my 75 gallon species tank my GBTA always looks really bad at certain parts of the day, then recovers and does fine. Non of my RBTAs do this and the GBTA has done it since I got it 1.5 years ago. Pretty Strange

my male clown has decided to move into it now. The female is checking it out as well but the RBTA is still her favorite home :0

Every now and then tdp, my BTA's will deflate and inflate at the same time. It is odd.
