Bracket broke

Coincidentally, so did mine.

Richard, should we contact the vendor we purchased it from or deal directly with you?

I purchased my 6025 from MRC a couple months ago, let me know what to do!

thanks,

Matt

Contact Roger - rvitko - on here and he will get you both taken care of. The new brackets designs should be in soon if not already to him from Germany

I hope they are a big improvement.

Mine broke off both tabs in the same spots on 3 brackets. They literally broke whilst in the tank, the nano's were hanging by the cords  I was not impressed when I came home from work and found them in this position, coonsidering the costs of these pumps.

They changed the plastic they used which is what caused most the problem, as Lexan becomes brittle if heated slightly too much

Quote from Roger in another thread-
The problem apparently was the plastic we chose- Lexan. It just is too brittle or too specific in the range of temp it requires to be molded. We changed to Luran which is what the pump is made of so it is a much more flexible plastic, the tabs will also be thicker on the new one.

I'm now 2 for 2 with the holders (not clips) breaking. Roger has already sent me a replacement for the first (quick and without cost), but hopefully the new style is out and I can get one of those.

This obviously is not a problem that I've just had. I have two 6025's, I think I'm going to need another one to replace the one that hasn't broken. . . yet!!

well mine just broke as well i was doing maint. to my tank and i had to remove my pump and two tabs snapped off :( and 1 is cracked :( i dont think the tunze will be ok on just 1 tab lol.... roger help us out.

To save Roger some time and the easiest way, shoot him a PM or email with your info of what happened and your and address etc.... He will need this to get you replacements out to you.

In the mean time if the tabs are broken you can zip tie the bracket to the magnet to hold it.

Just to make this clear, I'm talking about the arm that holds the pump and allows it to swivel. Some are talking about tabs, I'm not, this is the actual arm that surrounds the pump. It just snapped off.

Yes this is one of the two places they have tended to fail. More are tabs but some have broken in this manner as well.

Hey, Count me in also. I have 2 6045's, one clamp is broken other one is cracked. Not too impressed with the cage halves not fitting together either. Great flow though. Please PM me with info.

Mine broke off 1 side about a month before the other side broke of. I still run mine on the bracket, just so that the part of the clip supports the pump. On the ones that are completely broken, I epoxied the lead to the edge of the tank to hold it in place to help it be supported, untill the new brackets turn up.

Can't wait for the new brackets though, it will be good to control the flow.

Cheers

Chris

This is too funny:D I was just about to make a long rant about the cheap plastic they used on the 6045's as mine broke today during maintenance. Being the problem is known I'll see what they can do for me.

If you are in the states just PM me your name and address, we got the new clamps Friday and they are much stronger, the plastic is far more flexible and the tabs are twice as thick.

thank you roger, i sent you a pm last nite. Thanks for the great customer service. I ordered another tunze from anoter one of your dealers i just hope it does not break again. Did you start shipping the new streams with the better plastic? just wondering if i will end up runing into this problem again in the future.

The 6055's now all come with the new clamp, likely most vendors have a couple weeks of stock of 6025 and 6045 so until these are gone they will still have the old clamp but we are sending our vendors clamps to give out as needed and if you need one you just have to ask.
