Hey all...
It's with a heavy heart that I inform you all that I'm going to be breaking down my 65 gallon tall tank, complete with 2 x 250w metal halides, and 2 x 110w actinic vhos, (the 2 halides are newish XM 20000k and also have 2 XM 10000k used 6 months on 4 hour photoperiods.) The tank, stand, and canopy will be offered together once the tank is empty, and I'll throw the refugium in if the buyer wants it (if not, I'll throw it away, as it's kindof a frankenstein type gravity return system) I have lots of pumps/powerheads, most on the small side, and a Top Fathom TF100A skimmer (been working well since I changed the pump to a Rio 2100 pump.) I also have an electronic cut-off for the skimmer that hangs on the bucket I use for the skimmate that cost $50 new. The tank, all lights, stand, hood, ballasts, skimmer, kill switch, fan, refugium, and 2 or 3 small pumps and 1 large pump to feed the fuge, all for $500. I won't part out unless you guys wanna find someone to take what you don't want. This is a great deal, figure the halide bulbs alone are $80 apiece if you're lucky to find em. The tank is NOT drilled at all. It comes with a perfect fit piece of starboard for the bottom.
The tank will not be sold until all the rock and corals and fish are taken care of, and I WILL consider a nice package deal if you want some of it to go with the tank. Also with the tank, I'll throw in all of my supplements and food.

As far as corals, I've put together a rudimentary price list, which includes about half the corals. Of course they are all for sale. I like making package deals, so if you get more than 1 item, you'll save on the total.

My tank's alkalinity has been a small problem up till recently, which has caused a little browning out. But it's getting better, and the color's coming back!!!

I have a nice montipora confusa, at Coral Reef Farmers, under intense 20000k lighting, it was a gorgeous, colorful coral, with green polyps, and purple and tan/blue corallites and purple edges. In my tank, it browned way out, and it's slowly making its way back to some purple. As it is it's a nice coral, but only going to get better as my chemistry comes back online. See pics below. $35 (a steal!!!)

I have some beautiful cinnamon polyps, most are 2" across, 8 polyps or more (I think 2 more polyps are under the rock and extending on the other side where I can't see them) These are huge! Usually $12 per polyps in the store, $50 for a really nice colony of 8 polyps minimum. See pics below.

I have a large (2-3 lb) rock with 5 HUGE fuzzy green shrooms and a couple of babies as a bonus. (2 are 4" diameter, and sometimes swell up larger!!! The rest of the larger ones are 2-3") They are super fuzzy (I think Rhodactis) and green tips, aquamarine base, and super green mouth. See pics below $40

I have a large pocillipora colony, growing like 2 baseballs but somewhat growing into each other. Great condition, no breakage, on a small rock. Dark brown polyps with bright green tips. $40

I have a montipora spongodes. Awesome growth, has "nubs" that extend as it grows, but grows outward like a flowing carpet. High light only! Likes good flow. It's got huge yellow polyps, with a purple growth ring (the growth ring has faded since the alkalinity, but is slowly coming back) the largest polyp of any sps I've seen. It's a colony about 6" diameter, and about 3" tall. See pics below. $50

I have a 2-3 lb rock with 2 different color montipora digitata, one dark brown with bright purple tips, the other light purple all over. Alkalinity affected this colony worst of all, but in color only. Multiple colonies of each. $25

I have a 3-4 lb rock with a neat base of green digitata, with multiple heads growing out, and 2 different and very sought after zoo colonies. One colony is light light blue with a chocolate skirt, the other is a chocolate skirt with light blue ring and very nice pink center. This is going to be a show piece inside of 6 months. $40

I have a single but very large head of torch, open colony is around 3", with 2-3" tentacles. Nice color, bright green tips. $35

I have a large rock (3 lb) with 2 regular shrooms, 1 bright red (small) and a large multi colored shroom. The multi has quite a few tie-dyed colors, with pimples. Nice rock. $5

I have a blue/green chalice, very nice color, growing nicely, $25 (maybe 1 1/2" across)

I have a red/purple chalice, awesome color, $35 (maybe 2" across)

I have a nice sized frag of Idaho Grape Undata for $20

I have a smaller green cinnamon polyp, awesome color, about 1" diameter, usually $20 in this color per polyp. $8

I have a nice sized blue crocea, been getting picked on by the sailfin tang. He's still healthy, but really needs a good home with someone who's successful with clams. $30.

I have 2 small frags of Galaxia coral, great polyp extension, almost like green star polyps. Beware, they send out sweepers about 3" long. $15

I have a small thin rock with 2 large black / purple tonga shrooms, with white tips. Have to see these. If you're a fan of tonga shrooms, you want these. $40

I have a 2" queen or fighting conch (not sure which it is) $5

I have an arrowhead crab, he's eaten a few bristle worms that I've seen, $2.

Please see pics below.

If you come to see the corals, please bring buckets. I have gallon ziplocks, but alot of my rocks/colonies will not fit in those. The live rock I'll be selling off at around $2 a lb, and I estimate low (you save) Multiple pieces means better prices. I'd like to get this over with quick, like ripping off a bandaid to make it hurt less (that never works). And I'd really like this stuff to go to good homes, so please don't speak up if your tank is not in good shape.
I'll be home Sunday, all day, for this purpose. I'll hold something if you're someone I've dealt with before and feel I can trust not to stiff me at the last moment... Feel free to pm me. I'll try to keep the list updated with what's left. Thanks for looking!!!

P.S. Sorry for the poor picture quality... The pictures absolutely do NOT do the corals justice.

Fish: I have a large sailfin tang, not a red sea, the other kind. Beautiful fish, very healthy, eats everything (including clams)

Large cinnamon clown, very peaceful, slightly agressive towards the flameback, but not in a violent way at all. Just a little circling.
3-4" bright blue spot grouper (dark background) hides but peeks, and dashes out for food. So far no problems with the reef, but not small crab or shrimp safe. He did eat a full size blood shrimp and a coral banded shrimp

3" african flameback. Beautiful fish, dark blue and orange, irridescent blue edges to the fins when the light catches him just right. Eats everything, no special diet, has NOT touched the reef at all.

The engineer is promised to Rogger.

Bright Orange serpent star, smooth arms, $10
Extremely large green serpent star, spiky arms (smooth on top) Great eater, loves cyclopeez, shrimp pellets, boyd's pellets, flakes, mysid (let's face it, he's a piggy) Beautiful and the star of the tank! (probably 14-16" arm span! Don't think I've ever lost a fish to him. $15

I also have a black fleshy limpit, usually seen just as the lights come on... $5 if we can find him. Really cool critter.

Fish are not going to be chased around the tank until at least half the rock is gone. The starfish can usually be lured out with food, I won't directly feed them for the next few days so they're easier to catch. There are a few shrooms and zoos that can be scraped off the glass or starboard, free to whomever wants them if the tank's clear enough by then. Simply put, try to get here early, lots of good stuff. Most who've seen my tank would tell you it's packed. I just sold 1 of the clams and 3 large corals, and you couldn't tell they're even gone. Srill lots left!!! I'll be watching my pm's tomorrow, make sure to give phone numbers. I'll start seeing people Sunday. I'm in Davie, right off the Turnpike, easy to get to.

P.P.S.

I DONT SHIP! LOCAL PICKUP ONLY!!! Sorry, don't want my pm box to be flooded in 10 minutes flat!

Paul and Brett, pm answered.
Looks like the clam, digitata colonies (both rocks), rock with 2 shrooms, idaho grape, and cinnamon polyp colony (single cinnamon's still available) are spoken for. Make sure to pm me if you want those anyway, with your phone number, and I'll put you second on the list.

I am breaking down this tank, my last tank, while we renovate the house. We're tired of living in a cruddy looking house, and the tank is really really in the way. I could move it, but in the end, it's a ton of work to move, only to have to move it again later. We want a bigger tank, and I'm eyeing the 150 extra tall at Big Al's. That will be 6 months to a year down the road. I still plan on popping in to a few of the meetings, as I've made alot of friends there, and I may even set up a table at the frag swap if I have enough left to sell there. Once the list of corals and livestock are down to about half, I'll rewrite the list in a reply here to update on what's left. That'll probably be Sunday night. Remember, this is only a partial list of what's easy to get to. Once it's gone, there'll be another short list of remaining stuff. Unless of course we have a sniper in our midst that grabs it while they're here. Talk atcha later!

Jess, there are lots of other zoas, but hard to tell what rocks they're on. Best thing to do is come by... I have lots of little asstd zoos. Right now they're hard to get to, so tomorrow night I'll have someone coming by, and maybe they'll make it easier for you to get what you want.

I am very interested in any/all of the zoas! I can come by tomorrow if your free and take a look... I have cashhh... lol

I hope renovating works out for the best and you get back into the hobby asap. You were the first one that informed me about FMAS and got me started in reef aquariums and I thank you for that.

Thanks

-Matt

Matt, if you mean the tonga, I need to know if you mean the black and purple, or the green. I'm not going to post what is left until someone actually picks stuff up, since it seems to fall through about 50% of the time. So tell me what you want in a pm, and I'll let you know if you're 2nd on the list, or if you got lucky. Most of it is still avail.

See first couple posts for descriptions, this is going to be a condensed list of what's left. If it's sold, it won't be in this list. If it's spoken for, I'll list it, but note that it's spoken for. Some of those items already have a 2nd chance buyer with me, so if something's spoken for, feel free to pm me anyway.

P.S. Please, if you can come by Sunday, please let me know asap, so I can plan for it. Let me know what time you plan on coming. Thanks to all of you who've helped me so far, the takedown is going well, and alot is promise out, but alot is left. The above list is not all inclusive, there are some nice pieces left that just need to be seen.

Chris,

Thanks again for the great corals. Everything is acclimated. Man, I tore my tank apart and dropped more SPS than I care to think about into the sand moving everything around, but all in all, it looks great now, with the Pocillapora being the new centerpiece :). I'll post some pics when I know everything is going well and when the lights are on.

Everyone better head up and grab some of those zoos and rocks while they can, because I know that for the prices offered, I know one person is gonna go to Chris' and buy up all of the rocks and zoos together for a great price! It's all beautiful, tank, rocks, zoos, all livestock!

Thanks again, and good luck with the rest of the sale!

Eric
