Breakout Box and Float Switch for Apex

Hi All,

I want to buy the breakout box and some float switches to multiple purposes

Water change, auto top off, stop the skimmer if the sump runs low (when the skimmer overflows this will occur)

Can you please recommend me which float switch to buy from this website or any other ones you know?

There are vertical and horizontal ones, my sump is a glass one and I can't make any holes there, in that case, I won't be able to use horizontal ones, right?

If its vertical, I can hang up from a string to the sump, please correct me if I am wrong

So in that case, I only need my Apex lite, the breakout box and some float switches?

I use the FLT015. You will not be able to suspend it from a string, you need a rigid support. I made one from some leftover acrylic.

When you buy the Breakout Box, make sure you are getting the newer version with screw terminals. The one depicted in the link is the older version using spring clamps. The older design had issues with the clamps coming off and wires coming loose.

It is the new one. I bought one a month ago. Doing the exact same thing but haven't said it up yet! I ordered the FLT002

Yes, it will be the new one.
I went with the FLT002 because aquamanic who made the Guide to the apex suggested to get that.

They both function the same, there are only minor physical differences.
