Breathtaking Red Goni Balls

My red goni is slowly fading to a skeleton. I've had it for longer than any other coral, it just never seems to be happy. :(

I got several Goniopora (3) and Alveopora(2)
Here are two of the nicer ones. They are both Aquaculture. I think the Red on is ORA and the Green one I got from ASD.

I've have 4 maricultured red ORA long tentacles for 1-2 years (depending on which). They grow great and my clowns love them!

Here is a picture of mine that I have had for over four years. This picture is about 8 months old. I have it in a standard 90 gallon tank and have had to remove rock to give it more room and it is hitting the glass again. I never feed it but I had a wild purple goni and fed it. I would get a feeding reaction from the purple one but never once saw a feeding reaction from the ORA red goniopora using a lot of different foods.

I'll have to grab a pic of my red goni later when the lights come on. I love it. I got it as a tiny frag from a friend, and its done nothing but grow and look gorgeous for me.

I think this is a great coral for the hobby. Its a hardy goni with a good growth rate that's gorgeous and easily fragged. I mean, how cool is that?

How does Goniopora tolerate each other? Can they touch without problem? Mine are still small, I don't want to chance war but would love to put them closer to each other. In the past I have only one or two but start to collect more of them now

I have 8 gonis and never had a problem being adjacent each other. Other corals is another story, man can these animals sting.

I've had my ORA red Goni for a couple years and it has done well. Growth on mine is minimal though. I target feed occasionally and I do get a feeding response. It's really interesting to see the polyps move independently to eat with flow off. Prior to target feeding I just assumed they just waved in the flow involuntarily. They can certainly control where each polyp goes.

Here is an update on my two Goni, and a picture of a few others

Apparently Goni can occur in the wild as tumble weeds moving around with the tide. Justin credible talks about it in one of his presentations.

Coral tissue covers 100% of the skeleton, with no base.

Super cool
