You should read up of Goniopora. There are a variety of species. Some are much more amendable to growing in our tank than other.And I have always heard, you only rent goni's. It has proven to be true for 3 goni's in my tank. About 9-12 months and they decline. So sad, because they are so pretty.

I don't see why this would be true. If your Goniopora grow well, and if there is no change in your tank, I don't see why it would not continue to grow. Maybe if you can post a picture so we can ID it species. Requirement of different Goniopora species are different. Some will do well in tank while other need supplemental feeding of correct type food.I've got a green goni thats a frag from justin credible(my LFS sells all kinds of his frags), 2 monhs in and its doing great. Starting to extend itself off the frag plug onto my rockwork. After reading this thread I'm not sure if it will live past a year now. :s
