I received a few goodies today. Here are a few Cirrhilabrus jordani that will be going into QT. And yes that is two different buckets of fish. :)

Wow, is that 13 flame wrasses I count!? I love my male flame even though he seems to get his butt kicked by everything in my tank even though he is the second largest fish.

The Apex looks nice Brian! You will have to let me know how you like it.

Yup it is 13 flames :) Not all going in Brian's tank though but a nice harem will be.

I swear Brian our fish livestock lists are going to be very similar....guess you like my taste in fish :)

My mind is boggled by all the new fish. I've been considering something similar, but with halichoeres wrasses (likely the canary, because I can afford them ;)).

Yes there are 13 some went to Scott (tanglovers) and 3 might go to another friend. I'll have 6 if all goes as planned.

As for the apex, so far it been easy to work with. I have it mounted and the lights, pH, and heaters all going in less than 2hrs. I'll keep you posted.

Hold on to your seat... there be a lot more fish to come in time. Good to see you following along.

Very cool Brian. I hope you had better luck with your females flames and mystery than I did. They were the only fish that the mystery has ever shown any interest in at all.

I think you will be fine. My mystery leaves my current flame wrasse harem completely alone.....though I wish I could remove the mystery for other reasons....

I hope so too Mark, I had my mystery with other wrasses before and they did fine but I'll be watching closely once I add them. I need to put a top on the tank too for jumpers.

Very nice!

Will they breed in aquarium?

Tony, they might spawn once a male gets established. Right on they are all female. I don't think that anyone is breed them in captivity though.

Definitely no rearing in captivity. From my knowledge spawning events are even rare in the home aquarium. I have kept a pair or harem for the last 4 years and have not had any spawning that I have noted to date. I am just increasing the size of my harem.

What don't you like about your mystery? I have both a mystery and a male flame in my 90 gallon with no problems. The mystery does chase the flame once and awhile but nothing bad. I have been considering starting my own harem since the females are so cheap.

Not much to update. I was able to get the tunzes hooked up to the Apex with a nice 3" wave. I also got the web hooked up but I can't access it any other place but my house. Email isn't working either. :(

While hooking up the web was easy enough I'll need some help from the pros to get the rest resolved. It might not be fair to compare the Apex to my past Porfilux yet... so far they both have there pros and cons. I'll get into more details once I have used the Apex alittle longer.

I also retested the tank.

PO4 (Hanna) 0.06ppm
Nitrates (Hanna) 0.06 ppm
Alk (LaMotte) 9.5 dKh
Ca (API) 480

If my PO4's lower a bit and my nitates still the same I might try a few test corals. Beside my 2nd daughter 1st B-day party :celeb1:, I'll be working on wraping up my Apex install, cleaning up my wire nest, and working on a net top.
