I have an ELOS and two Salifert ALK kits. In addition, I borrowed a friend's API kit... I got three widely different readings. But that is the subject of another thread.

So to answer your question, I am looking for someting I can trust...

LL

Out of all of them I would use LaMotte. The color indicator is a tablet vs a dropper (less room for error). When titrating there is no air gap as some test, which also can cause error.

Two thing that they could improve on is the color change can be hard to see at first, but once you get use to the test it's not bad. The other is you need to do a calculation to get it into dKh from ppm.

Lookin' good Brian  Your getting some great color, nice deep blue on the Oregon Tort.

Nothing special :). The flames will be going in, down to 5 :( and another of school of fish... well sort of. I still need to get two more of them. After I add these and replace some corals ;)... I'll be add some rarer fish.

Seeing how I will be taking down my old 90 gal tommorow I thought I would vist her onje last time...... For all the corals I loved before :( .

Brian, is this a named coral?

I bought it as Tyree's LE soli. I lost it in the move but have another line up hope.

I have a huge chunk I can give you. I might have a few others if you want to put together a pack.

If you were local I'd just give you a piece.

Then again, there are others that have much nicer stuff than I ;)

Ian, thanks for the offer. It's people like you the make this hobby so great!

:eek2: Wow Brian that 90 was packed full O nice stuff! That frag rack must have 100+ pieces alone. Can't wait to see how the new (much bigger) tank evolves. What were some of your favorite pieces? Yeah, if you were in So. Cal. I'd tell you to come by and bring a laser pointer.

Thanks Dan, I have alot of work ahead to rebuild what I once had but it will be fun to collect again.

I think I might have to make a trip out to So. Cal. just to see how you cut frags with a laser pointer. So does Mark you a lightsaber? :strooper:

Besides add the flame wrasses, I added 3 Hemitaurichthys polylepis. I originally wanted 5 but only received 4 and lost one in QT. I will be adding 2 more down the road. After them I'll be adding a few large angels :D.

Love your butterflies....

Thanks Ed, I hope to add a few more butterfies down the road. These few a just the start.

Today I had a ballast go out. Not sure what is wrong with it but when plugged in it trips my GFI. Good thing I was home to find it. If I can't get it fitted I'll need to get a new one.

Any thoughts of what could be wrong with it. I plugged the quick disconnect into an other ballast and the bulb fires up fine so it ahs to be something in the ballast... I think?

Brian, if you haven't you might want to plug the working ballast into the same plug that the non-working ballast is in to see if the working ballast trips the GFI. Maybe it's the GFI? If it doesn't trip then it would seem to be a ballast issue.
