Brian's 270 Starphire

Great fish selection Brian. Do you get any PE with the nippers in?

Dan, I just count on them nipping. I have some corals that still have awesome PE and over time, the corals acclimate to it and they are fine.

She acclimating to QT now. My LFS was nice enough to hold and condition her for a month, so she's eatting well.

I'll give you a few clue as to what she is. She 3" with tail and is and angel :p.

I guess I'm just not as patient as you guys. I just removed a Klein's because he was picking at my corals (and apparently not eating aptasia). Made my millis hairless!

No offense Dan, but there is no way even I would put a kleins in my tank. They are notorious for eating polyps and they are pretty enough for me to take that chance :fun2: Luckily I got over my liking of hairy millies a few years ago. I have always been a fan of smooth skinned corals anyways :p

I agree. A kleins will more likely pick at coral than most angels. As for millies... I still have PE on them, but I so feed like 6 times a day :).

Another clue she from the Philippines :).

Well based on my limited (one) experience, I would agree with you guys. I added it after reading several threads and an article here. You're right Mark, not a very attractive fish but I was told she had a great personality

OK Brian stop teasing...spill the beans and post a pict. You know I live nipper ownership vicariously through you guys.

No pics yet Dan. She doing good, not eating as aggressively as I'd like but still eating. I had alittle ick break out in my display, so I've pulled the pyramids in put them and QT. I hoping the blueline will clear up on it's own. :sad1:

Little update... I've been battling Ick in the display for awhile now. It started with the pair of pyramids. I thought they would get over it on their own but that didn't happen. Aftering adding the blueline and the little fight that when on, things just got worst.

So, today I finally caught the last fish and put him in QT. All the fish but the flame wrasse are now in QT and I plan on giving the display sometime for the ick to pass though. I didn't pull the flames based on the fact that their slime coat has prevented them form getting ick. I know it a risk but hope this will work.

The worst part is that all these fish have been in QT before. Plus I have new fish that are ready to be added.

Darn Brian, sorry for your troubles but glad you got eveyone pulled and in the "hospital" ;)

When you initially QT'd them did you run hypo or Copper?

Fingers crossed for you man!

Thanks Austin, I had them in QT with cupermine for the full dose and prazipro for 14 day. Most were in QT for a month or more. All the fish look fine once I put the back in QT. I formalin dip the blueline has he was the worst.

Good luck Brian. Ich is never fun and its something that most new tanks go through :(

I agree Mark, I'm starting to think that all tanks have it no matter what you do. As I said above all fish when though full QT before going into the tank and didn't have a stop of anything before. Better ick than some of the other disease out there.

I have seen too many tanks and sooner or later almost all tanks get it. Its really sad as when we set up a new tank, we get really excited and we want to fill them sooner than later. Even with my tank where I used 80% of old LR and 50% old water when I set mine up, I battled ich as well. I still have my 57 watt UV plumbed in "just in case".

I must say, after seeing you little blueline and seeing a larger one a few weeks back, I have had my eyes open for a smaller one :p

In your alls opinion, if you have one fish which gets ich, should you pull them all out. See my problem is I have a lot of fish, and it would be immensely hard to get them all, what should I do?
