Brian's 270 Starphire

Sounds like you went from recommending no fish quarantine at all to now being okay with the idea of quarantining new fish arrivals? To quote Anthony Calfo, "not using a quarantine tank is like playing Russian roulette. Nobody wins the game, some people just get to play longer than others."

Very true, in this hobby I've learned you need to adapt to change. There are so many different way to go about things, but the easiest route is not always the best way. I like that quote by Anthony Calfo, smart way to think about it.

I personally QT all new arrivals, not just fish and corals, but inverts too. It is just not worth risking an established tank by introducing diseases and/or pests to your healthy reef. I use a 30 gallon breeder tank for my QT system. I also have a 29g fish only qt tank as well. The bigger the QT, the easier it is to regulate water parameters and temperature in my opinion.

For the sake of my fish why play with fire when I can take a proactive approach and prevent a catastrophic disaster from arising?

I was under the impression and from what I've read in the past that a 10g should be used for QT and I didn't like the idea of putting fish into that cramped of a tank for 3-4wks.

A 30 gallon it is! ;)

Pics look great Brian, though the stuff in person is still much nicer.

Thanks again for all your help and me getting through the Delta headaches! Hope the new little one made up for me keeping you up into late hours of the night!
