I have been dosing the neozeo in the sps tank (without the zeolith stones) at work for a few months now and have been very happy with the results... will definitely fix that HA problem posted earlier, also try feeding your fatty tangs a little less :)!

sam... looking good. I may be a neozeo to zeovit convert soon, too much $ for those fancy vials of vinegar !

Nice Mike .. goodluck ..

As i read some of neozeo method already, i think it's look quite similar to zeovit method. What are the differrent of it?

Far as I can tell [so far] about 1/4th the price.

I am in my 6th week myself.

I just started this system on my tank I have battled with Hair Algea for months now, tryed GFO, pulling it, scrubing rocks, feeding very light, skimming wet, ect. After I talked with Sam and seeing what it did with his tank I feel this may get my tank were I want it. I am going to post I pic to show now with HA and hopefully after with it gone.

kzoo - Your tank is looking great and nice upgrade since I last saw it.

I think you will benefit greatly from the NeoZeo. Just start up slow using the ramp up on zeo stones/bacs/c source outlined in the manual. It took me about 6 weeks with Prodibio to put the algae on the run. After about 5 months it was about gone. NeoZeo may be more agressive and shorten this nutrient reduction cycle.

CHUBAKAH - Not really any diatom blooms but I have noticed a green sheeting algae growing on the glass in my refugium. I did pull a large chunk of cheato out of my fuge last month as the ball was starting to turn grey. I think some of the other macro in my fuge is starting to die off as well.

I added some more flow in my fuge recently to try and move more nutrients through the various macro and sandbed. This seems to have helped get the cheato stabilized but it is not growing mad like it used to.

I am actually cleaning the display glass every 3 days or so now. Before with just the bacs from Prodibio I was going 3 days but the glass seemed dirtier (more diatoms likely).

Thanks Sam,
I'm having to clean my glass about every three days as well. Seems it shows up in the early morning, and by thr end of the day it has the back glass covered pretty good.

Chris Brightwell is going to be at one of my local clubs in a few weeks. This is one of the things I am going to ask him about, as it seems pretty excessive.

If anyone else has any questions, be sure to posts them in this thread.

Thanks again Sam.
Regards,
Mark

This seems like a very promising alternative to Zeovit.

Would you mind estimating what the start up cost is?
Also, would a TLF Phosban reactor work for the zeolite media?

Thanks.

Depends on what you would consider your start up. For me it was the Neozeo media, Microbactor7, and the Bio fuel which you don't even use until your third week. Total cost was somewhere around $30 bucks.

I think a phos reactor would work with a couple extra things added. I would get maybe a 250 - 300 gph pump and put a ball valve on the output of the pump to control the flow. A rio 1100 even comes with an inline valve. The valve would allow you to cut the flow down to operating levels of 100gph and you could periodically crank it up to blow the bio film off the zeo stones.

The second thing I would add would be a tom flow meter so you can set the flow more accurately. The one that measures 50-250 gph would work. I think something like this would work well:

Mike, does this mean you're switching to the BA system and away from zeo?

BTW: Sweet frags you have posted on MR

Mike
I think you're going to be quite happy! Not that your reef needs much improvement. I've been using the product for a while now and got to test the rock before market. Are you going to the NJReefers swap next week? Chris Brightwell will be there and I can snag some frags from you. K
