Brightwell Salt.

From Billy's testing @ 1.0264 using Salifert Kits:

Brightwell Neomarine
calcium: 370
Alk: 11 dKH
Mag: 1140

D-D H2Ocean
calcium: 450
alk: 10
mag: 1380

if we are comparing D&D and brightwell , how do they stand in terms of alk when the salinity is at 1.025 ?

i am running zeovit here as i have trying to get a dkh at around 6.5 to 8

Neither salt matches that, but IMO, folks get way to torqued up about the salt mix alk level. IMO it has almost no bearing on the alk in the tank. You need to add large amounts every day, so how can it really matter if the salt mix itself used for small water changes has a bit more than the tank.

so is it ok for me to stay at h20 or change to brightwell ? seems in my country brightwell is more expensive

What I meant, is whether the marketing "hype" is a result of incompetence or a calculated method to mislead hobbyists (or both), it seems more colorful language should be in order, perhaps even with a few expletives added in. :)

If your in Southern NJ, you can have whats left of my Brightwell's NeoMarine salt. I have never had much luck with their products, and long ago gave up using it for ESV salt, which I have been happy with....

Fancy packaging and marketing hype are enough reasons for you? :D

I like the packaging.Their buckets and bottles can brighten up a fish room. The explanations for their product and why it's better and even has a higher price point to prove it are confusing , inaccurate and obfuscatory, Fortunately these tomes are mostly in small print and don't take away from the eye pleasing bottles and buckets too much. :uhoh3:

I agree with Tom. Honestly the packaging looks great, better than other brands. BA did an excellent job with product/website branding look & feel. It conveys the authority of a meticulous marine scientist's attention to detail and laboratory quality!

Yes, ignore the small print, it isn't important to the overall feel of the product, and might discourage one from effectively decorating an impressive fish room with one of each of the scientific bottles. :hmm4:

Somebody actually agrees with Tom-go figure. ;)

Is the Brightwell salt topic still active? I figured it would be over by now.
