Bryopsis vs Fluconazole

I've read that you should notice changes to the Bryopsis within a couple of days, especially Bryopsis that are in the areas with more light and flow. Today is day three of treatment and there is no change at all. How long should I wait if there is no changes before I dose again?

You will not notice a difference if you are using an inferior product. This is with the skimmer off, and GAC offline. 3 days is nothing -- My first time using Flucon was with a lower quality med, and it took over 14 days total, and a minimum of 7 days before I saw the slightest of results. Again, with all filtration offline.

When I used the one I linked in the post above, I noticed a difference in 2 days. With the better medicine everything was dead in 4-5 days total.

That's where I bought mine from. I placed another order today just in case I need to dose again. Filtration is offline, skimmer is running without the collection cup. Hopefully I start to see some changes soon.

Now that's interesting. I've recommended that particular Fluconazole to 5 people now and all have seen dramatic and quick death of Bryopsis. Much faster than other brands which I and others had tried.

Here's hoping yours doesn't last too long --

Yay! Today the Bryopsis is looking like it's losing it's color. Much lighter than yesterday. I also received the second order of Fluconazole today, in case it comes back again.

Good to hear, maybe you had some dense growth and it just needed a 'lil more time.

worked great for me. I kept it going for about 2 months. Completed two water changes during that span and just added capsules to new water to keep same ratio.

For the first few weeks I ran no skimmer, gfo, carbon. Rest of the time business as usual.

Just thought I'd post a timeline of the Fluconazole at work. After dosing there was no change until the 4th day.

Just starting to grow

Got anymore you're selling? Might have to do another round for the ones that came back.

Curious if any of you guys that used Fluconazole run a Algae scrubber? And if you did/do how long is it before it can be put back into action after the dose?

Edit: Sorry for posting in the group came up on a google search, but if anyone has any info that would be cool. :)

Google 'My battle with bryopsis using fluconazol'. Find the thread on the other large reefing board. There is a FAQ section.

"Q: Do I take my ATS offline?
A: Yes. Completely sanitize it, and reintroduce it after all the bryopsis is 100% gone."

Yep already read that one, it really doesn't say if the Fluconazol is out of the system at that point or if it will kill off the scrubber then etc.
Like to see if anyone knows if there is a timeframe when the Fluconazol is out of the system/no longer active or if water changes need to be done to remove it to allow AS to take hold again etc. One post in a thread is not much to go on, first hand experience would be far better.

Going on 5 months since doing this. Took care of bryopsis and GHA. No return yet.

very happy with results. I know a few had concerns of where they bought it and results. I went with payless pet products website.
