Keep taking photos, and let's see! I've never seen anything like it, so make sure to keep a photo journal.

Something similar is mentioned in the second ed. of Wilkerson's clownfish book I think,,,(a BTA budding from it's mouth) keep taking those pics,, that's awesome.

Maybe it's a nubbin???

JK. That's among the top ten coolest things I've seen in a reef tank!

>>ill take more pics as it changes.

Everyone in the hobby will want to see these,,, try and take really hi-res pics if you can,, in case it's published someplace.

Was the anemone ever injured or ripped in that spot?

I would like to have picture of it's progress on my web site if it turns into something really cool, like a baby anemone.:)
With your permission of course and your name would be on the pictures.
Please take pictures daily and show us what it is doing .
Really awesome. I have never seen this before either.

of course you can do anything you want with the pics. i do not need credit lol. im here to share.

i will try to take better pics as i see any change in the "nub" :)

the bta, was not riped or torn in that particular area. like i noted. it has not gone thru any obvious signs of stress during the past few months ive had it. has never moved. eats a small silversides about once a week. under 10k mh.

well lets hope this bud becomes something. just fed the mother mouth a silver side. tommorrow i will try to feed the bud and see if it pulls in any mysis. my hope is that it becomes a two-headed bta with a shared stalk/foot :)

fabulous, you say the small bud has a mouth?
Thanks so much for permission to use them. I will watch this thread for continued pictures to see what it does.

yes , the small bud appears to have a mouth in the center of the stubby tentacles.

its hard to take a pic from above bec the mother tentacles are hanging over the bud.

Wow, that is very cool, hopefully it will soon grow large enough that you will get a good pic in a few months of the mouth. Wish I could see it in person! Although the pics are really cool!
