BTA disapeared

Newly added BTA, who yesturday morning found it's way wedged between and under some rock work was manually moved to higher ground yesturday evening.

Before leaving for work, prior to the lights coming on I could'nt find it anywhere.

If it jumped/ fell/ got brushed off the rock work where placed last night, is it possible that my cleaning crew consisting of blue leg hermits, nassarius snails and mexican turbo snails snuffed him out and eliminated it completly?

I would not think that it would be possible for the cleaning crew to snuff it out. They should not even be able to touch it. It might be back under that rock or under another one that makes it hard to near impossible to see. They do recede at night and become a lot harder to see. When my purple LTA recedes at night, I can barely see it and it is pretty big and in the front of my tank.

I would not manually move it higher...it should find its way there if it wants. If you move the rok it is on, that's one thing, but if you pull it off the rock, you stand a very good chance of ripping the foot, which from what I have seen is relatively uncurable. They will not be able to stick to rocks with the loss of their foot. BTA's many times wedge themselves in rocks and don't come out for a little. They are usually just getting acclimated to the lights/flow/params/tank/etc. This is normal and nothing to fear.

Your cleaners would not harm the anem, but might push it off a rock if it can't secure itsself.

Thanks for the comments, and to cschweitzer point, it was not attached, I used a turkey baster to direct flow from the back side of that structure and put minimal squeez to the rubber end and the BTA drifted right out.

What powerheads do you have? I've had my RBTA split multiple times and have lost at least 3 roaming BTAs to my Tunze 6100s. Still have two RBTA (the one my clown hosts in never moves). A big powerhead can shred them to pieces and you will be lucky to find a piece of their foot sitting somewhere. Check your filter intakes and powerheads...
