Bubble Anemone with SPS

I personaly gave up on BTA and went to a Sebae, and am very happy. It walks WAY less, in fact hasn't but once in the year I had it only then because of an ALK spike.

I've got a big 18" sebae in my SPS tank. Hes great, never moves...seems to love the flow. Clowns are way cooler in big anemones too.

I have a rbt that split and both found a spot and stayed there. They have yet to hurt any of my sps though. it seems like the red bubbles find a place and dont move.

mine hasnt moved since i put it in my 15. and it seems to be thriving. but my clown hosts that at night and my hammer in the day

I've never had problems keeping my Rose Anemone in my SPS dominant tank. I've found that if you position them such that they are getting good flow and light and feed them every couple of weeks, they'll be too happy to move. Mine has been a nice source of income for me. Split-- sell half, split-- sell half, etc. Because of this, I've never had to worry about him getting too big and encroaching on his neighbors.

WARNING.....i used to have a GBTA in my 55g SPS tank.....anything within a 4in radious that was SPS would eventually bleach white due to the BTA getting an arm on it or being to close.....i loved it, made the tank look great...but if you want to keep SPS alive, your better off not having one, IMHO. Up to you really! :D

Couple shots for ya! (as you can see there are no corals around the BTA....it killed them all)

You say, "USED TO HAVE"; I have one now, and so far it's no where near SPS, but, if I had to, how would I get it out of there.

Thanks,
Dave

Not to hijack, but, any secrets in getting the tips to bubble, James?

Usually to get them to bubble very nicely requires hight light...but there are also two types of rose's floating around...there are some that have a greenish tint in them and these tend not to bubble, they are from indo. and tend to be found deeper in the water...then the other ones are all rose colored and tend to bubble more, but if they are happy and have high light, then they should bubble...I bet if you talk to most people who have ones that are bubbling, they will have very high light.

That may explain it, I only have 2 x 175W on my 75G, but, besides the bubbles it seems healthy; thanks for the info.

Dave,
Yeah it was in my 55 for 2.5years and only moved one time.....finally found a home dead center....so all corals around it had to be moved or they were visiting the reaper....

the only way mine came out was when i swapped the tank from a 55g to the current 120g.......put the rock upside down and squirted it with a turkey baster(on its foot) till it worked it's way loose.....

as for the bubble tips....mine never had the "bubble" tips, believe it or not, they just started to form that way after about a year in the tank.

HTH :D

i have the one with the greenish tint on the disk, it used to anyway, and it has great bubbles. its about 8 inches away from a 400watt 20k xm tho.
