I have a Green Bubble or Bulb Anenome. I'm new to there behaviors. My tank is well established and chemistry right on. Most of the time it's full, white and pretty then every so often it will pucker up and stay that way for a while with it's mouth open then go back to being full and healthy. Is this normal? It seems to be expelling waste during this time with the bonded clown fish helping it. Also it's basal disc is stretched out like it is either moving. Could it be splitting?

Sorry to bother everyone. I figured it out. My Hydor Koralia Evolution Aquarium Pump seemed to swith polarity and started spinning backwards. If your turn the plug it fixes it but this one changed by it's self so I flipped the plug around and it fixed it. Just need to keep and eye on it. It was moving looking for good circulation because as soon as I fixed it it puffed up and looking healthy again. I love these power heads but I guess I may have to replace them.
Yes, the behavior is normal. BTAs shrivel down to almost nothing periodically, as well as puffing up like a ball and seemingly pulling in all their tentacles. It's all normal and relates to changes in lighting, water chemistry and expelling waste.
What is concerning is that you refer to your BTA as "full, white and pretty." A healthy BTA really shouldn't be white, as that indicates a lack of zooxanthellae, and those zoox are helpful in helping keep the BTA well-fed, with enough energy to grow and recover from injury or infection. Yes, a white BTA can survive, you just need to ensure that you target feed it on a regular basis.

And old Koralia powerheads are known for running backwards. Your lucky if switching the plug makes it run the other way as that really doesn't effect how the motor runs. Just unplugging it and plugging it back in can work. I had one that I had to put my finger in to keep it from going the wrong way and when it was plugged in I'd give it a small push in the right direction and it would take off running the proper way.
Also +1 to what Kevin said above. Your BTA shouldn't be white. If you can nurse it back to health it should be light green. And in my experience, green BTA are far more difficult to keep healthy than Rose BTA.
