Bubble King Skimmer Club

My Mini 180 is pulling 52-55scfh or a little over 1500lph. I am in 9.5" of water and have so much air below the bubble plate that I am getting a build up of air that when it releases between the bubble plate and body, it is huge bubbles that shoot upward. I can't close the wedge pipe anymore because then my skimmer would flood. Right now my wedge pipe is closed about 40% and my water level in my skimmer is 1" below the max water level line (I can't run any higher than this). Would raising my skimmer up to 8.5" help me out with this problem? Isn't the rule of thumb that by running the skimmer in a lower level decreases the air draw? Maybe then I can close the wedge pipe more forcing the water level back up to where I run that with less air draw and maybe correcting this problem. Any thoughts on this?

Another user with this "big bubble build up" issue... I really need some back up on this problem before purchasing my mini.

Another update of my SM250. I am one of the early adoptors of this line. Still going strong  This is a week's worth of dry skim

:eek2: WOW that is dry! I better crank mine up!

So I just got a BK 300 deluxe internal. The output is not supposed to be near the pump into right? But because of how my sump is, I can't easily turn the output to the the side. I could, but I can't attach the elbow, thereby causing the water to just exit horizontally and make a bit of a splash. Would performance be adversely affectedly if I used a slip union to extend the horizontal reach so that I can get to the other side of the skimmer and then use the elbow the have the water gently return to my sump?

Thanks!

Don't have the actual picture of it currently in operation with the elbow removed, but here are some pictures

You will be just fine in extending the outlet, just as long as it does not have any vertical rise to it, just level horizontal, or downward.

I have a BB160 mini from Premium and find there is not much air being drawn in, I had expected a thick white column in the skimmer I rather have a 50/50 water foam mix.
you can easily identify the water line to foam ( there is a stark difference). Product is a watery skim in the cup but I think without a good foam production I wont get good results?, should the ozone port be plugged? does this make a difference.

so I am in the process of tuning the skimmer. I was wondering if the riser height can be TOO high. I am trying to wet-skim a but to "catch-up" from a period of about a week when the skimmer was off-line. What's the best method to wet-skim with a bk300-internal deluxe?

And also, any idea why my bk300 looks different than other bk300? My cone sections starts a lot lower than other bk300's ive seen.

I have had a BK self cleaning cup for my BK160 mini on order with premium aquatics for 3 weeks now and there is a confusion of, its in transit, its lost, dist not responding ext, ext, ext and no promise of a delivery date yet.
Does anyone know who might have this item in stock I can call?

I forgot to mention that I have not once cleaned the inside of the skimmer body, so you can imagine how much better it'd be if I did so periodically. My skimmer maintenance includes weekly cleaning/emptying of skimmer cup and periodic vinegar baths of the pump.

Sounds like we are in the same boat, mine has been on order for 7 weeks now, I was told before I placed the order it would be 2 weeks....

Sorry for the issue, the SkimClean shipment has been a mess, which seems that no one (including DHL) knows where it is.
